IMDb's Name Formatting Policy

Your inflexible  name formatting policy automatically putting last names first causes confusion of my brand name, i.e. Bob Honest, with a rock & roll band based in Boston, Massachusetts named Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives.

I spend a lot of time, effort and money to create my brand. To have it willfully diminished by insisting on policies that result in confusion of my brand with others is unconscionable and  a disservice to your paying membership and those that rely on accurate information from IMDb.

I strongly suggest that you reconsider your Name Formatting Policy in the interest of disseminating accurate information to your membership. Thank you!

Hi @BobHonest

Can you provide further details/insight on where you are seeing the Last Name, First Name formatting on the site? Thanks.

I am receiving a pop-up that states that IMDbPro automatically changed my name from Bob Honest to Honest, Bob.

Following is the reply I received from IMDb Support to my original inquiry:

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your message.

Unfortunately we're unable to change this as names should be submitted in the following form: Last Name, First Name(s).

You can find more information on name formatting below:

I hope this helps - thank you for your patience and understanding.
