IMDb 'warning' makes me unsure how to proceed with title change

Somehow, a DVD marketing title for the "Beaver" Pilot ("Leave it to Beaver - The Lost Episode") got substituted as the title for the

whole series (tt0050032). I tried to submit a title change, and got a serious warning (in red type, even!) that

submitting my information - with a detailed explanation - would result in this information being "merged"

with the existing title. The implication of the message was not clear (to me) - I don't know what it means

that a title would be "merged" with an existing title - so I clicked "Save for Later" so

I could ask for advice on how to proceed. Basically, "Leave it to Beaver - The Lost Episode" needs to be

reverted to its original form, "Leave it to Beaver" as the series title. Please advise.

You do not need a Title Correction. The title you mention is listed as an alternate title, so that is where it can be corrected.

Well, sort of - the title of the series ("Leave It to Beaver") is now listed as an alternate title, but "Leave It to Beaver - The Lost Episode" is not an alternate title for the series. That's one of the things that makes it complicated. (The bots that control the submissions see this, and reject my attempts to fix it, because the title I want to 'promote' is already there.)

No, as you can see on the page and in the update form, "Leave It to Beaver" is listed as the original title. That's why you would get an error trying to correct it to the same title.

"Leave It To Beaver - The Lost Episode" is listed as an alternate title, specifically as "IMDb display title" for USA. I will try to correct it for you.
