IMDb ratings

I have observed something quite interesting about the ratings given to the docuseries for Apple+ - The me you can’t see.

Those in the U.K. based their ratings on their opinions of whether Prince Harry should have done the series, and therefore mark it down for that reason, whereas, outside the U.K. they based their ratings on what they watched.

This is not the first time that I’ve observed such behaviour. When Meghan Markle narrated Elephants for Disney, it was the same. Reading the analysis then, made me so upset. Reference was being made to she being a Duchess, narrating a Disney documentary, even though it was for charity.

To put it bluntly, the U.K. ratings are based on discriminatory behaviour and should not be tolerated!!!

Hi Karen123 -

Our voting system already detects and defeats attempts to stuff the ballot and skew the rating, as demonstrated by the difference between the weighted average and the arithmetic mean on the vast majority of titles in the database.

Our voting system is continually improved in this respect so you can rest assured that abuse is always automatically detected and thwarted; our voting system has several safeguards in place and that this type of behavior is periodically detected and automatically defeated.
