IMDB Ratings Malfunction

@Michelle​ Thank you Michelle for the response and correcting the duplicated user. Appreciate you looking into this and reviewing the title. I wouldn't say this has been solved though. The rating has taken a hit because of the manipulation and I'm not even sure normal scores are being recorded or past normal score in the higher range have been accounted for; as perhaps they've been lumped in with the manipulated votes. As an example on the opposite side of the spectrum, although the duplicate user's review has been taken down his 1 rating is still recorded. I'd like to see the film's rating at least reflect the true score by the people that have voted. It's a small film but with a very big cast so I know we had a large amount of people that enjoyed the film and voted higher but yet the rating stays low. I strongly feel some ratings have not been recorded properly. Thank you again, I know you all are trying your best.

@Bethanny​ Thank you Bethanny but I respectfully disagree. I legit had some friends vote on the film in the last couple weeks and the rating didn't move at all. Today, maybe a few votes have been registered in the last week and the rating dropped from a 5.0 to 4.7. This is extremely reckless and it's inaccurate. It costs future indie films from going into production because agents/managers look at past films and when a film has a rating that is just plain miserable it reflects poorly on the filmmakers. I know the rating is not true nor accurate. Is there someone else I can speak with? Thank you.

Hi Jonathan5922, It is detailed in our Ratings FAQ (https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/ratings-faq/G67Y87TFYYP6TWAV#) that ratings from different users can be weighted differently, for example: "(...)IMDb already calculates weighted user averages using a mechanism to neutralize the impact of attempts to artificially inflate/deflate a title's rating. This mechanism is applied to all titles. In other words, just because the ratings breakdown shows a large number of ratings, it doesn't necessarily mean that those ratings have the same weight. Rest assured that we carefully monitor rating patterns for these titles to determine our best course of action." We regret that we have not been able to address your concerns to your satisfaction, or take the actions you have requested. Our customer service department will not be able to offer any additional insight on this matter. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for the explanation. Unfortunately, I'm not understanding, and you and the staff are blatantly gaslighting me. You're telling me that the 20 new ratings as of posting this have zero weight? I know for a fact, IMDB is not counting any of the new votes. Most of these are legit ratings by people who post on IMDB regularly. I see them tag the movie in their Instagram posts. They are actual reviewers. But yet with all the aforementioned info; the rating hasn't even moved by .1. As an indie filmmkaer that has mountains to climb to even get a movie made nevermind released, this is not a conducive practice by IMDB. Please, I'm asking, to look into this. Kindly, I can not accept a canned answer. Thank you for understanding.
