IMDB ratings malfunction - Son of Sardaar2

Hi, Son of Sardaar2 movie weighed rating = 8.6 unweighed rating = 4.2 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29429860/ratings/?ref_=tt_ov_rat Yes, I know what weighed rating and what it is used for. But come on, the difference cannot be 4.4. Max I've seen is like 2 for other movies. Also for reference, film has 7.3/10 on Bookmyshow - https://in.bookmyshow.com/movies/mumbai/son-of-sardaar-2/ET00450471 It also got mixed reviews from critics - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Son_of_Sardaar_2#Critical_response Plenty of 4s and 3.5s out of 5 among the reviews from critics as per IMDB itself - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29429860/externalreviews/?ref_=ttrt_sa_4 Son Of Sardaar 2 OTT Verdict (Week 2): From Box Office Flop To Netflix Sensation, Ajay Devgn’s Comedy Climbs To #4 With Strong Viewership Son Of Sardaar 2 experienced a jump of 37% in viewership from its debut week of streaming on Netflix. https://www.koimoi.com/television/son-of-sardaar-2-ott-verdict-week-2-from-box-office-flop-to-netflix-sensation-ajay-devgns-comedy-climbs-to-4-with-strong-viewership/?utm_source=chatgpt.com There appears to be some loophole in the algorithm if the difference between the weighted and unweighted is so much and the unweighted is so far away from every other data point. Can you please check and fix this? Regards Abhijit

Hi abhijitmk- Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are aware that there are people who may vote for the sole purpose of trying to inflate/deflate the rating for a movie. We have several safeguards in place to automatically detect and defeat this type of ballot stuffing: even though we count and display all unaltered votes in the rating breakdown, we apply several countermeasures against all attempts to skew the rating for the weighted rating you see displayed on the site. We will review the title in question to ensure that the weighted average is displaying as intended. For more information on our abuse detection methods, or details about IMDb ratings and weighted averages, please refer to our Ratings FAQ: https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/ratings-faq/G67Y87TFYYP6TWAV# Cheers!

Yes, I am aware of this page: https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/ratings-faq/G67Y87TFYYP6TWAV# and have read it before. But like I said before: There appears to be some loophole in the algorithm or some other issue if the difference between the weighted and unweighted is so much (4.2 and 8.6) and the weighted one is so far away from every other data point. "We will review the title in question to ensure that the weighted average is displaying as intended." Thanks. Can you please update here once that is done? Regards Abhijit
