I would like to understand something about Attack on Titan ranking

Hello, first of all thanks for the service you offer.

I would just like to express my opinion regardind one of the most popular shows, which is Attack on Titan.

I state that I read all your ranking rules, about weight and arithmetic average.
Nonetheless, it's funny that a Tv show with over 40 episodes ranked above 9,5 (also the only one to get two 10/10) and the rest of them not less than 8.5, still stands at 8.9 in the general vote.

I mean, it sounds impossible, actually it would be if you didn't consider the episodes something different than the general vote. But, as many people are noticing, it's pretty unfair. I mean, how many tens does this pearl have to get in order to overcome this 8.9, considering that almost all his episodes have an average between 9 and 10?
I could have understood this 8.9 if it had got some episode ranked 6 or 7. But if the lowest vote is 8.5 it's mathematically impossible.
Ps: I'm not a fan nor anything, I was just curious after seeing so many high votes and super positive comments, as you can look at them.

Thank you for your attention
Kind regards,
Giuseppe Scuticchio

Episode ratings do _not_ contribute to the overall series rating.

Only _some_ of the votes you see here:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2560140/ratings

are fed into the weighted average.

The arithmetic mean of those votes is 9.0.

The weighted average is 8.9

I see _no_ problem here.
