Solved

I thought epigraphs were firmly established in Crazy Credits ...

... but this seems to contradict:

251230-200837-042000         TAINTED LOVE (2014/I)

Declined (1)

Crazy Credit Addition

Title card before final credits:     Love is the only reality and it is not a mere sentiment. It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation.                Rabindranath Tagore 1861 - 1941 A Bengali polymath and poet
Explanation, please?

Hi hutch48-

Thank you for posting the reference! Further reviewing, this was rejected as it should be submitted under quotes (you can see an example here). In this case, you can submit:

[epigraph]

Rabandranath Tagore: Love is the only reality and it is not a mere sentiment. It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation.

Cheers!

@Maya

Crazy Credits are unusual things shown during a production's credits:

  • They may include pre-credit title card quotes, epigraphs, additional scenes, or funny messages hidden in the credits themselves.

This thread references staff decisions about this:

In the past, we had been flexible in listing epigraphs under the Quotes section, however, I raised the issue with our Policy team and it was confirmed that (with the exception of Silent films) Crazy Credits is the correct placement for title card epigraphs, as we prefer lines of voiced dialogue under the Quotes section.

@Peter_pbn Thanks, Peter, for the back-up. As was decided long ago, epigraphs are not quotes, since they are not part of dialogues between the film's actors. Forgive me, but the example quoted by Maya (an epigraph from Louisa May Alcott among the quotes from LITTLE WOMEN) seemed truly bizarre, not because it was inappropriate but because it was at odds with the rest of the film's quoted dialogue.
