I know IMDb won't change this, but I really wish they would...
I just really wish IMDb would be willing to let you remove your name from certain projects, whether you created the page of the project or someone added your name to their project. I understand the reason they don't let you remove it is because it's considered factual that you are a part of the project, but I feel like if you have IMDbPro (which I do) you should be able to have certain perks like that. You'd think because our pages that we claim is ours, represent us.
I have created pages for short films that I have made in the past when I first got an IMDb profile, adding myself as an Actor, Writer, Director, etc, but now I just wish I could select which projects I want to keep under the Actor tab, but keeping the Writer, Director, etc credits on my page.
My brother, for example, has been making documentaries lately, and he wishes he could remove his name from some silly short film him and I made in 2010 (that I created an IMDb page for) because he'd rather have his most recent/serious work be shown on his page, but he is unable to do it.
I understand it's technically my fault for creating these pages in the first place, but having it be permanently on your page is honestly a bummer.
So I ask for IMDb to give you the option, even if it's just for Pro members and people who have claimed their profiles as their own, to give you the option to remove your name from certain projects, even if it's just pages you created since you are the creator of that page.
I love this website and it'd make my experience with it even better. Curious about other people's thoughts and opinions on this.
Thanks for reading!
