I have being trying to add Alex Hirsch's uncredited role into the credits of Into the Spider-Verse when there is so much proof of it.

I have being trying to add Alex Hirsch's uncredited role in the script and continuity part on the credits for Into the Spider-Verse when there is lot of proof for it, but It's not allowing me. Why? Here is some proof links at https://filmschoolrejects.com/spider-man-spider-verse-trailer-introduces-miles-morales/ https://twitter.com/_AlexHirsch/status/1069097847029547009 and https://www.thewrap.com/alex-hirsch-write-spider-man-animated/

Here is my re-submitted of it at https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/update?load=230706-020332-087000

Why is it so hard to have Alex Hirsch uncredited for one script part of Into the Spider-Verse when there is so much proof of it?

Hi alex_hartsell & all-

Thank you for posting the re-submission reference number and all the supporting links! After taking a further look, the credit has now been approved and the changes will be live on the site shortly.

Cheers!

Sounds like it would belong in the writers section.

Probably only the writers section.

A difficulty may be that IMDb traditionally won't accept uncredited writers if the writer credits are determined by the WGA. This film and others from recent years do not have the WGA tag on the writing credits, but perhaps IMDb can confirm whether this rule applies in this case.

It looks like other people who worked on the same team was either added to Art Department or Animation Department as "story artist" or "storyboard artist" (actually mostly it's duplicated on both sections), considering "head of story" is on Art Department, that may be the correct section.

@mbmb I see and if this submit fails tomorrows, I will add him to the art department as head of story.

@alex_hartsell I don't think he was "head of story", I think he was more like one of these "story artists".

To add an animation credit you should have a source for that.

On Twitter one of the writers mentions Hirsch separately from the storyboard artists: "Meghan Malloy, Aaron Covington, @_AlexHirsch who wrote with Phil and I." Malloy and Covington are not animators.

That tweet looked more like a continuation of this one to me, rather than an indication of separation but you may be right. He says "story department" when talking about them and most of these names are credited onscreen under "story" title with "story artist" job but these are on art department, including "head of story". This Wikipedia page for that job title indicates a writing role too, though I don't know how accurate it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Story_artist

@Peter_pbn Checking the mentioned names and their credits, I tend to agree you are likely right about that tweet being separate from others.
