I have a film listed on my profile incorrectly, as I was never a part of it.

I have a film listed on my profile incorrectly, as I was never a part of it. The adult film is negatively effecting my search online reputation. How can I get this taken down, as I am really frustrated at this point..

Hi, Erik Horbacz. How do you know that the profile in question is your profile? What if you're a victim of simply having the same name as a man who is involved in adult film? If the name "Erik Horbacz" appears in the on-screen credits of an eligible videographic work, it will not be removed from the cast list of the IMDb title entry corresponding to it. Sorry.

Thank you for the reply!
The profile https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8900855/ is mine. I had ownership of it for years, and in an attempt to have the incorrect information removed, a few weeks ago I deleted my profile. Which, unfortunately, just removed my ownership of the page but kept the contents on the site.

Is there any plan of action to have the page removed or the film off my profile?

But where did your filmography go, Erik Horbacz? Why does it only have one item on in that you claim to be incorrect? There should be other items in it. This is weird.

Erik: If there is another person with the same name as you, then you need to be distinguished from the other person with roman numerals after your name. One of you will be Erik Horbacz (I) and the other Erik Horbacz (II).
It doesn't matter which person gets which roman numeral, although since the other guy currently has a credit listed and you don't, I would normally recommend that you should be Erik Horbacz (II).

Based on the below thread conversation, do you have any thoughts on how to process a removal or edit the information on my profile?

Hello Michelle,

I can confirm with you that i was not credited on the title, featured on the title, or feature/affiliated in any way with this Film. I was just in the audience. Please let me know how to have this removed from my profile page as it has been incorrectly assigned to me.

While logged into IMDb.com, you can edit nm8900855 or tt6741116, by clicking the "Edit Page" button at the bottom of either one, and then either correcting the filmography of the former or correcting the cast list of the latter. The object in this particular case is to either delete "Best in Sex: 2016 AVN Awards (2016)" from the pertinent filmography or delete "Horbacz, Erik" from the pertinent cast list. If there is no evidence of an on-screen credit of any kind, then this is justified.

That's the issue though, I "deleted" my IMDb account, which just gave up my claim on the profile. So now I do not have login ability.
I attempted to have the Best in Sex Actor Credits deleted, but was never processed.

If I can have my profile removed overall, or just have the Best in Sex 2016 AVN Awards (2016) taken off that is fine with me. I just do not want this false information out there.

Well, Erik Horbacz, right after I posted message about how to go about deleting the linkup, I submitted an edit to clarify the nature of your role in the television special: 180626-204828-013000. That is about all that can be done, since the credit is technically not false, as you were at the awards ceremony. I don't know whether the program's presentation identified you or not, but if the IMDb data editors will not approve a deletion, then somebody probably already submitted evidence of the on-screen credits unless the IMDb staff is going with the "we trust our sources" argument.

I was close to do the same when I saw your post.
No point in double submit it I guess...

A search @ the avn.com gives no result for the name Horbacz.
A extended search for Horbacz in porn gives the same result, no result at all.
There are lots of references to "Erik Horbacz (L) and adult film actress Eva Lovia attend the 2016 Adult Video News Awards"
But there are nowhere said or written that Erik Horbacz participate in adult movies.

If its enough to be seen with a adult actor to be listed as a adult actor, its time for some serious updates on IMDB.

But he is not listed as an adult actor. He is not listed as an actor at all.

Well as the listing says "Best in Sex: 2016 AVN Awards", and Mr Erik Horbacz are listed in the Cast --> "Credited cast" list, AKA a reciever of honor and glory on the event.
97% of the people listed in the "Cast" are involved in adult industry, (there are 1-2 others I'm not sure how connects)
I cant find traces of Erik Horbacz in thecnical department or acting department of any known adult movie, not in amateur or webcam porn either.

Only thing Erik Horbacz have done is beeing in the wrong place and holding on to a cute womand and telling the photographer his name.
If one picture is enough to define the difference between audience and participant, then someone need to be carefull wherewhat they get their pictures taken.

A employer searching for your name, and it pop ups together with LOTS of hardcore adult actors, he might rethink his options on hiring you :p

Erik: If you want to submit a deletion of this credit, I recommend providing an explanation along the following lines. Please choose sentences from the following paragraph that actually apply to this situation -- not all of them may necessarily apply to you. However, the boldface sentence is key, so please make sure to include it if it is true.
I am Erik Horbacz. Although I attended the awards ceremony shown in this TV special, I was only an audience member and did not appear on stage. My name was not listed in the on-screen credits of the program, nor was I identified by a caption or verbally by an announcer. I am not even shown in the broadcast.
I note that if you are clearly shown in the broadcast, but are never identified in writing or verbally, then you could be listed in IMDb with an (uncredited) listing. However, since you have no other credits listed in IMDb, your uncredited role should normally not be displayed on the database and your name page would normally be suppressed from being shown to database users, at least until you have a credited work to list.

Thank you for the recommendation.
What is the best method for submitting the deletion of the credit?

goto https://contribute.imdb.com/updates?update=nm8900855&ref_=nm_ov_edt
find the "Filmography (acting)" line and select the "Corect/delete" button
scroll down to bottom of page and hit the continue button
Next page explain why you dont deserve to be listed with all the porn actors, feel fre to use my contrtibutions from here :)

Hit the "Check this update" in the bottom, and maybe one more time if the page gives you another page to fill stuff into.

IMDb have made your desired changes on your credits, now you just need to do the same process for the mini bio wich still mentions the AVN incident :p

That's an automatically-generated short bio, Per Kristian. He might as well have his profile deleted altogether unless he plans to work in recorded show business.

What Jeorj said. The mini-bio should disappear on its own within a few days, without Erik needing to submit another edit.

Hi, Erik:
I can confirm with you that i was not credited on the title, featured on the title, or feature/affiliated in any way with this Film. I was just in the audience.
The problem is that the sentence above is not completely true... you are clearly featured on the title, so the credit probably won't be deleted:

Good news are that your name doesn't appear anywhere in the on-screen credits nor were you identified verbally or by a caption, so the attribute (uncredited) ought to be added to your credit. Then, since this is your only work listed on IMDb, what gromit wrote applies:
[...] since you have no other credits listed in IMDb, your uncredited role should normally not be displayed on the database and your name page would normally be suppressed from being shown to database users, at least until you have a credited work to list.
Also, to avoid being mistaken for an adult actor, I would simply enter Himself - Audience Member as the character name in your credit. Personally, I'd like to believe that, to most people, being friends with/accompanying/sharing photos with an adult actor doesn't immediately turn someone into an adult actor...

Cheers!

Great research and information. Thank you, I have submitted the request of removal.

Has there been changes made to IMDb's site? As this now shows a short bio and looks to have a different profile representation than last week.
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8900855/

Also, should I resubmit the removal request since I still see it listed?

It's not that the page "now shows" a short bio, since the page always did. It's some kind of glitch. Erik Horbacz, you should demand that the page be deleted altogether.

Hi there,

This isn't a display bug with the page.

The credit for Best in Sex: 2016 AVN Awards (2016) (TV) is still listed in the database for Erik, however as this is uncredited and there are no other fully credited positions on his page - it doesn't display within the filmography (this is intentional logic).

However, the automated biography still picks this up.

As there are no visible credits on the page, I have deleted the entire listing now - this should disappear within around 24 hours.

Have a great day.

Joel

Thanks for clarifying, Joel. That "display logic" thing is causes a lot confusion, on one occasion or another. What do you think the company should do about that?

It's 2021... So who cares bro. You can provide proof of who you are! But look who you're married to... 1 of the most gorgeous women to walk the earth! Personally I would just run with it and just let it be known in all my profiles, if I were you that it was a typo and live! You know it's not you in the film but I honestly don't see the problem? Times are different, specially with the pandemic... just let it be known first when trying to do whatever it is you're doing, don't hide it for them to find out and you should be OK!!! That's just my opinion! But your wife will always come up and if that hadn't been an issue,  no offense... Why you crying?! If they don't say anything about your wife and who she is, why the hell would they care about a typo? Sounds to me like your embarrassed of who Candice was...! Maybe you should get a divorce if that is a problem to you!!!
