Solved

I don't understand this really

I encounter this every year after january 1 for past 4 years. Or you allowing dumb people to delete factual information as always or there is bug in your system, because all factual releases dates for movies that a more than a year away always gets deleted. This is dumb, why i need to re add everything every year? https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/260104-102808-509000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/260104-104145-344000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/260104-103905-304000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/260104-103746-361000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/260104-102957-198000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/260104-102844-161000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/260104-104614-903000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/260104-104757-620000 and these are only a few examples

I know that it's on the site now, because i re added it, but can you explain to me why this happening for years? If it's bug, why it's not fixed? If it's dumb people, who you allow it? Why then i do contributions? If dumb people can delete factual information anytime they want.

@ugnieska For extra background here, this is not a bug.  It is part of an IMDb internal data review process at the start of each year which aims to avoid displaying distant future theatrical release information which is no longer accurate.  Although you may only have noticed it in the last few years, this is a long running annual process. We found it to be necessary since there are so many factors which might delay theatrical releases and previously there were many cases where projects which had been long cancelled were still on the far future release calendars. The issue with these titles is that the process assumes a certain amount of supporting evidence in order for the release dates to be retained, however, because these titles are not global studio releases, they failed these plausibility tests.  We have made an adjustment for this class of title from this country going forwards.

I understand this, but these release dates are always accurate, they rarely change and if they do i always update it, because i always follow all my contributions. So this really bothers me, because i need to readd everything, that doesn't need to be deleted in the first place. There should be solution for this, that it won't happen anymore.

@ugnieska Thanks again for bringing this to our attention and on your final point, please see what we wrote above, specifically: We have made an adjustment for this class of title from this country going forwards.
