Huge fake credit issue on animated films and series
The database is plagued by fake credits on animated films and TV series (most of them listed as uncredited) – at this point, probably too many to find and delete one by one. The easiest way to get rid of them would most likely be to check who has added these and revert all their edits.
Chuck Jones is erroneously listed as having worked on Monsters, Inc., A Bug's Life, Toy Story and the What a Cartoon! short "Dino, Stay Out!" (which is actually listed as "Dino in Stay Out!" on-screen, by the way).
The What a Cartoon! episode has a lot of fake credits, probably most of the uncredited ones in this case. Wang Film (which was often used for Hanna-Barbera cartoons) did the actual animation for this short and was listed in the end credits under "Produced in Association with". But the IMDb listing adds similar credits for THREE other animation studios (Fil-Cartoons, Mr. Big Cartoons, Shanghai Morning Sun Animation), as well as further fake listings for American "assistant animators" (Joseph Barbera, William Hanna, and as I already mentioned, Chuck Jones). At this point, I'm assuming most of the uncredited crew listed here on that episode didn't actually work on it.
Other What a Cartoon! episodes also suffer from fake credits, especially ones listing Shanghai Morning Sun Animation and a person called Horseman Cao. He does exist, but even his Linkedin page with a long list of shows he has worked on says nothing about these well-known shorts where he supposedly held a significant role according to the fake credits.
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends also has some fake credits, including the directors on "Schlock Star" (Craig McCracken was the only director in reality), the huge list of storyboard artists on the same episode (Kelsey Mann was the only one), They Might Be Giants as the performers of the theme song (maybe in the contributor's dreams), along with many others! These fakes aren't even listed as uncredited, so some of them can be difficult to spot.
I hope the contributor behind these edits can be detected and the edits be mass reverted. Otherwise it's probably impossible to get rid of them all – you'd have to find all the involved films and shows somehow (a needle in a haystack situation), and where the fake names are not marked as uncredited, possibly go through all the credit sequences to remove all the fake names. I was an active contributor in the past and have always considered IMDb an excellent source on credits. But sadly it seems obviously fake credits get through the system too easily these days (a legendary 2D animation director being an assistant animator in a CG film in his late 80s?), so this no longer seems to be the case with animation, and some of these fake credits (at least the Horseman Cao ones) have even been spread to some wiki pages (though it might have been added by the same person/people who added them here, rather than by someone trusting the fake listings). I hope this can be fixed soon!

@Bethanny Thanks for the information! The problem with identifying them is that some might have worked on one or more episodes, but the uncredited appearance in another episode is incorrect. So the ones I'm listing here only apply to their uncredited appearances on the series. For the more unknown crew members, this essentially comes down to checking whether they've worked on other cartoons involving that studio, but it just means they might have worked on the episodes in question (Durmiendo and everyone below). But since they're from the user that contributed a lot of obviously fake information on the same episodes, there's the question whether any of it is trustworthy enough to preserve (I'd lean towards no).
Genndy Tartakovsky - credit on S1.E2 is plausible (but maybe redundant since he's already credited accurately as the director, a role that often includes timing in animated films), assistant animator on S1.E11 is incorrect
Chuck Jones I - no involvement at all on the series
William Hanna - has credited roles on the series which are real, but both of the uncredited appearances (as assistant animator) are fake
Joseph Barbera - uncredited appearances as assistant animator are fake, storyboard artist plausible
Jaime Diaz IV - credit on S1.E4 incorrect (not made at his studio), S1.E2 redundant (as he gets an on-screen credit with a very similar title)
Mike Kunkel - predates his other storyboard credits by several years (I notice he has a lot of uncredited storyboarder roles on shows and films – suspicious), almost certainly incorrect
Veronica Durmiendo - is a real person that worked at the Fil-Cartoons studio, so the credit on S1.E10 (produced at that studio) is plausible, S1.E5 most likely incorrect (animated in the US). The Fil-Cartoons-related credits may all have been copied over from "A Day in the Life of Jerry Smith" produced at the studio (where I didn't spot any obvious fake credits), but that's just a guess.
Remus Aguilar, Olan Antigua, Archie Bolina, Bob Bulaon, Ariel Villar - Fil-Cartoons employees, but episodes not produced at that studio (or even in the Philippines), most likely incorrect
Ever Basa - Another Fil-Cartoons employee, but episodes not produced at that studio apart from S1.E8
Peter Honrade, Jomer Oroza, Rico Reyes II - Fil-Cartoons employees credited on episodes produced there, plausible
Mary Grace A. Arguelles - Assuming that the Pagemaster credit is correct, she appears to have worked at Wang Film, so S1.E4 is plausible, the others most likely fake
Arwin Ronquillo, Gloria Melendres I - Assuming credits on those films are correct, they appear on Fil-Cartoons-associated films, so plausible
Babes S. Consolacion - Most likely all fake
Horseman Cao, Wang Chenggou - All credits incorrect (references to studio that didn't even work on the show)
If these ones I checked are anything to go by, it seems that most of the information is incorrect, the rest of it slightly redundant, or in the case of the Fil-Cartoons credits, people who might or might not have worked on the episodes if they were copied from the Jerry Smith short as I suspect. Deleting all the uncredited crew members added by the user is probably the safest way to go here.
I'll go through the uncredited companies on the series later to point out the obvious fakes there, but most of them will probably be incorrect.
@glenrf The credits listed on that site seem to be for the more significant roles while the suspicious What a Cartoon! credits are usually less significant crew members. But thanks for the link – I think it could help a lot with the other shows involved like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, where even the likes of directors and writers are listed erroneously.
