How to report a fake user

Hello,

I've been trying to find out how to report a fake IMDB listing but can't find any real way to contact IMDB. The reason this link needs to be deleted from IMDB is this man claims to be a writer and has been stringing along young actresses who are hoping to get a break and using his fake IMDB profile to do it.

The listing in question is this man: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm7690789/

He is known online by some as "The Wig Menace" (source: https://southfloridatheater.com/2022/04/01/the-wig-menace/ ) This man will stalk women online, usually costumers, actresses, and wigmakers, and attack them over the appearance of their wig. He has some unnatural obsession with hair, and will stalk and harass relentlessly. Blocking does no good, he simply creates a new profile. According to the article, the authorities know about him and are trying to get him to stop. His false "writer" page on IMDB needs to be removed so he can't use it to legitimize his lie to unsuspecting young women. Does anyone know how to report this user?

Do you know if he ever actually released the only film he is credited with, Echo Kyriakos?

The IMDb listing for the film says it was released in "May 2022," but I see no proof that it was actually released.

Rather, this seems to be a fake film that he has been using as a pretext to get women and girls to submit video auditions to him, which he posts on YouTube.

If the film was not actually released in May 2022, then this is a fake film and it should be pretty easy for IMDb to delete the listing for the film as well as his name page.

But if the film was actually released, it is a little more complicated than that, since IMDb's policy is to retain factual information on its website.

I also noticed that his IMDb bio is not really a true bio, but rather a first-person statement of his interest in producing his movie:

I'm in the process of trying to source crew to make a tv pilot this summer, I think it's hard for a producer to know what this is about and bring it to life but my director sees potential in echo Kyriakos so I hope others will too. I've reached out to producers to try bring funding to it and bring the level of escapism a post covid works surely wants to watch.

That doesn't say anything about who he is. Bios are not supposed to read like that. If his IMDb name page stays, then this bio should be taken down.

p.s. It does look like the movie was not actually released.

I found a tweet written in late March 2022 -- just weeks before the TV movie was supposedly released -- calling it a "series" and begging for "an injection of cash." https://twitter.com/WoBSV/status/1506629514960461827

And his LinkedIn page currently says "Currently trying to get funding for a TV pilot as I know I can put a crew together as well as Netflix and amazon can." and "I’m working on trying to sell 2 screen projects" (one of which is Echo Kyriakos) and "we are looking for a producer" and "I don’t know the funding options around and think a pilot like this can be done for 50,000 but that’s the way you have to sell series these days make a pilot then the networks and streamers know what it’s about then they can decide whether they want to make it."  https://uk.linkedin.com/in/daniel-staley-myers-ab598316

It does seem that he is lying about having released this film (or is it a series -- he can't seem to keep that straight).

Hopefully that is enough to get the page for that title removed, and also hopefully his IMDb name page as well.

I wrote another reply on this thread and it was immediately marked as private, possibly because I included links. Let me know if you cannot read my second reply. Basically it is strong evidence that the Echo Kyriakos show has not actually been released.

I will try again without the links, just to get the information out there:

In late March 2022 -- just weeks before the TV movie was supposedly released -- someone posted on Twitter calling Echo Kyriakos a "series" and asking for "an injection of cash" to pay for the series.

Also, his LinkedIn page currently says "Currently trying to get funding for a TV pilot as I know I can put a crew together as well as Netflix and amazon can." and "I’m working on trying to sell 2 screen projects" (one of which is Echo Kyriakos) and "we are looking for a producer" as well as the following:

"I don’t know the funding options around and think a pilot like this can be done for 50,000 but that’s the way you have to sell series these days make a pilot then the networks and streamers know what it’s about then they can decide whether they want to make it."

All of this leads me to believe that the show Echo Kyriakos was never actually filmed, let alone released. Which makes the title page fake.

Hopefully that is enough to get the page for this title removed, and also hopefully his IMDb name page as well.

On a side note, posts that are marked as private don't necessarily stay that way indefinitely, but it may take more than sixty hours for it to become public if ever.

Hi @stitchlord -

Thanks for reporting this. @keyword_expert very much appreciate the investigation done.

I have now deleted the title page. The name page will not be deleted but the mini-bio was as it was breaching our policies as it has to be written in 3rd person.

Cheers!

Thank you all for your quick response and action! Hopefully this will help dampen his stalking behavior.
