How to Move Credits Wrongly Placed in "Rest of Cast Listed Alphabetically" to "Cast (in credits order)" Section?

Sometimes the Screen Credits and the "Rest of Cast Listed Alphabetically" are wrongly divided on the cast page.  When that is the case, how can users move Actor/Character roles into the correct section?  I see no instructions anywhere.

Here is the example I'm working on.  I have the KINO Blu-ray of Dangerous to Know (1938).  The Screen Credits (which are at the end) show 16 Actor/Characters.  The IMDb list, however, has only 12.  That last 4 are missing, and wrongly placed in the "Rest of Cast Listed Alphabetically" section.  I want to move the last 4 people into the top section where they belong.

The last actor/character showing on the current Screen Credits is:

Edward Pawley                John Rance

The last four actor/characters on the Screen Credits, who should be moved up from the other section and placed immediately under Pawley/Rance, are (in order of Screen Credits):

Eddie Marr                      Crouch

Harry Worth                    Hanley

Robert Brister                  Councilman Murkil

Pierre Watkin                   Senator Carson

[Note:  Currently Harry Worth's character name is misspelled as "Haley", but both the onscreen name in the credits and the name as spoken aloud by Akim Tamiroff is "Hanley".]

I don't mind if someone on the IMDb staff moves the names in this case, but I would like to know how to do it myself in the future, whether the credits need to be moved from the bottom section to the top, or vice versa.  Can some expert help?

Hi, old_film_lover:

Please see the following help article: Cast ordering.

In the case of Dangerous to Know (1938), if we follow the on-screen credits...

...the submission form would look like this before being submitted:

Since you said you didn't mind, I've sent the contribution for you: #260510-132552-383000

Cheers!

Ah!  Thank you for explaining this!  Also, thank you for making the change for me.  The next time I see the same error, I will try to make the correction myself.

And just to complete my understanding, if the error is the reverse -- if some names are in the IMDb Credits which are not in the on-Screen credits -- can one remove the names and characters using the same page, by deleting the numbers from the order?  And if one does this, will the names and characters automatically be moved down to the lower section?

Hi, old_film_lover:

If the error is the reverse -- if some names are in the IMDb Credits which are not in the on-Screen credits -- can one remove the names and characters using the same page, by deleting the numbers from the order?

If by “removing” you mean moving the credit from the top portion of the credits to the alphabetical section, then yes, you just need to delete the order number, but do not forget to add the attribute (uncredited). This applies whenever the person appears in the film but their name is not listed in the on-screen credits. See this help article: Credited vs Uncredited.

If by “removing” you mean deleting the credit altogether because the person doesn’t appear in the film at all, you need to change the Action menu for that entry from "Correct" to "Delete" and provide sufficient evidence in the explanation box to justify the removal of the entry.

By deleting the numbers from the order [...] will the names and characters automatically be moved down to the lower section?

In short, yes. There are a few exceptions where entries with order numbers are displayed on the page in the same section of the cast as entries without order numbers, but they are not relevant to this discussion.
