How to handle blacklisted writers that have their credits restored
I didn't see anything in the writers guide that covers this situation. I just happen to watch two movies in a row that had blacklisted writers that have their credits restored on the DVD/streaming versions of the movies. However, this looks strange to me. Here are the writers from Roman Holiday:
Notice that the position 1,1,1 is missing. That is where
Dalton Trumbo is currently credited.
It seems to me that the order should reflect the blacklisted writer in the order that their credits were restored instead of just ignoring those credits. You would then have this order:
Dalton Trumbo (screenplay by) (originally uncredited) 1,1,1
Ian McLellan Hunter (screenplay by) 1,2,1
John Dighton (screenplay by) 1,3,1
Dalton Trumbo (story by) (originally uncredited) 2,1,1
If this is not acceptable, then the ordering needs to be fixed to show the original credits (which I don't know where you would find them):
Ian McLellan Hunter (screenplay by) 1,1,1
John Dighton (screenplay by) 1,2,1
Right now it is strange to have the skipped credit order which wouldn't represent what was shown on screen.

Why not just add them ”uncredited”? I mean blacklisting writers (and others) was a great shame, but from the IMDb’s point of view they were ”uncredited”. This is probably the first time I see ”originally uncredited”, is that a proper attribute?
