How to handle back and forth edits?

Hi all,

In the last few months I'm in the process of editing the Greek alternate titles according to the formatting guidelines in https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/title-formatting/G56U5ERK7YY47CQB .

I noticed a specific edit being reverted; it's on the https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0993846/ “The Wolf of Wall Street”; “Wolf” should be capitalized according to the English IMDb formatting guidelines, but the relevant word «λύκος» should not in Greek; I'm happy to discuss the reasoning for this with anyone interested.
Anyway, I verified (by resending the edit several times) that the edits I suggested were valid for a period of time and then changed back; because of varied associated changes to alternate titles, I deduce there is at least one editor strongly believing that «Λύκος» should be capitalized and trying to force their version of the edit.

Back-and-forth edits are a waste of resources (mostly time, but maybe also money in the case of edit reviewers); so is there a way to notify the other editors to come here and discuss the issue?

Notes: there is no animosity at least on my side, and no predestined stubborness to “prevail”; like I said, there is a reasoning about it but I'm open to discussion. I'm also willing the do the best I can to keep the discussion civil and productive, as such discussions can easily degrade to useless flame wars.

Hi tzot-

So sorry for the late response, we are trying our best to work through our backlog. Does this issue remain? Is the alternate title still being changed?

Thanks!

@Bethanny The specific title seems… stabilized, I just checked.

However, there are still spurious edits reverting my changes; probably by more than one editor that haven't read the formatting guidelines for Greek.  Unless people actively seek to find the site documentation, I don't think that there is much that can be done about it.

Thanks for getting back to this issue!
