How to change video to movie
How do I change the original title type? For instance, from Video to TV Movie, or from Video Short to TV Short? And is there a separate type called TV Special (whether long or short) or is that just TV Movie and TV short?
I don't see anywhere in the editing fields to change this. The creation of the original title pages were listed wrong.

How do I turn standalone shorts into episodes of a TV series? The type needs to be changed, for one thing. And what to do if the episode already exists: that means a duplicate, requiring a merge; in that case what should be done first? I get type-mismatch errors.

The Example (2020) would be a theatrical film.
The Example (2020) (TV) would be a TV movie (or a TV special -- see below).
The Example (2020) (V) would be a made-for-video production.
"The Example" (2020) would be a TV series.
The Example (2020) (VG) would be a videogame.
These are the basic title types.
A TV special would have its title formatted the same way as for a TV movie -- but it also needs to have the Keyword tv-special.
A short is formatted the same way as a full-length title of the same kind -- but it needs to have the Genre Short (and it should also have a running time listed of the appropriate length).
If you need to correct a standalone title to an episode of a TV series, you should submit a Title Correction to change the title to the episode title in proper IMDb format. If the episode already exists in IMDb, that formatted title is easy to find. Just go to the episode page, click "Edit page", and on the next screen you will see the formatted title. For example, the episode of "Seinfeld" titled "The Puffy Shirt" has the IMDb-formatted title "Seinfeld" (1989) {The Puffy Shirt (#5.2)} (with the exact punctuation being required). If the episode is not already listed in IMDb, you will have to figure out the correct formatting of the episode title.
If you submit a correction to merge a short into an episode that already exists, you will get warnings that say, "There is a mismatch between the title type of the old and new titles. Are you certain that you wanted to change the type of the title as well as its spelling?" and "The new title already exists in IMDb. Are you sure you wish to merge this title page into this other page for the identically named [Episode Title]?" You should check the boxes marked "Warning understood, go ahead anyway" in both cases and proceed. It's not a matter of doing a merge first or second -- the process is basically just one step.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

I'm trying your procedure for the TV standalone -> TV episode now. Looks like the ones that failed me last year now have been added to the series as episodes but the standalone still exists – somebody wasn't paying attention. So I'll do a merge per the same procedure. I assume editing the standalone to merge into the episode is the proper way, and not editing the episode to incorporate the standalone.
My fingers are crossed...

These are all listed as (V) which need to be (TV). They already have the genre "short". All of them are Rowan Atkinson titles with his character Mr Bean. There are 8 titles. Also the title needs to be changed on 6 of them, so I'm doing that at the same time. (I tried it the first time without changing the title but that got rejected.)
I'm also changing the titles on 4 episodes of an Atkinson/Bean series (the title types are fine on those), and those are getting rejected even the second time or third time with elaborate explanation and a link to the actual episode on YouTube.
In all 10 cases of title changes, the title I'm changing it to is the on-screen title. The current titles are just the original person's more-or-less made-up description, taken from a listing or an analysis of what the title is about or where it comes from, superfluous info (a few come from the advertisement of the episode), without the person actually watching the episode and seeing the title on the screen. Very sloppy.

Here are all my submission numbers and their status:
These are title text & title type changes. They are all dated March 20, but are still "pending". You've already caught up on submissions for that date, so I assume these are then effectively rejected:
200320-051555-357000
200320-051853-497000
200320-051959-048000
200320-052052-980000
200320-052514-723000
200320-054332-350000
These are title type changes only. They have been rejected. (These are the two I provided details for in an earlier message.):
200321-092906-127000
200321-101720-955000
The 4 title text changes on tv episodes that I mentioned in an earlier message have been accepted on resubmission and are now done. The only problems are when I change title type.

I can't get any title types changed. The correct information that indicates that these are TV broadcasts not separately released videos has already been posted by other contributors in Trivia, Alternate Versions, Release Dates, and Reviews (reproduction of the original UK tv guide listing), on each of these 8 pages. The evidence is there in IMDb already (as well as other archival and reference sites like Wikipedia and Archive.org); the type just needs to be changed.
For title text changes (on the 6 infinitely pending ones), copies exist on the producer's official YouTube channel, and are noted elsewhere, but one only has to look at the on-screen title to verify that. I'm more concerned here in this thread about a simple title type correction, and I've received no response that that is being effected or someone's looking into it. Are you?
You asked me to post details, so I did, but that was a week ago. Perhaps I'm too impatient; just wondering what the status is. I'd like to clean up the listings. Actually, I'm cleaning up the Rowan Atkinson name page, and I have more, but additional work is being blocked by these contributions I've already tried to post and are not going through. Attempts to work around it are often not going through either, or are very slow and often require repeated resubmissions.
