Your normal IMDb name page will be ”created” at the same time when someone submits the name (as a cast or crew credit) to IMDb. For example, that short film you’re referring to. If you don’t have a IMDb name page, your name should be added as a ”new name”.

Divesh: It's more the other way around. Having a credit listed on IMDb will cause you to have a name page; you don't need to have a name page first to get your credit listed.

Either the director, you, or anyone else can go to the page for the film and enter your name as a costume designer. The person submitting the credit will then get a warning along the following lines:

This credit has warnings, you must acknowledge each one before this credit will be accepted.
Sorry, no suggestions available.

  • This is a different person not currently listed - create 'Vijayanandakumar, Divesh'.
  • I am not sure - submit it as 'Vijayanandakumar, Divesh' and let IMDb staff decide.

The submitter should select the option for "This is a different person not currently listed - create 'Vijayanandakumar, Divesh'", and then proceed from there.

Within a few days, a name page will appear on IMDb under the name Divesh Vijayanandakumar, which will be your name page on which the credit for this film will be listed.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
