How to add a Literary References on IMDb

Hey there! I hope someone can help me? How do you add a Literary Reference for a title? And in which category. The Literary Reference is non that the documentary is based on it, but rather that the Reference is being used in the documentary itself. So basically, author, book title, date of release and publishing company.

Thanks so much!

Taxi: That's not a category of data used on IMDb.

However, if the reference is interesting, it can be mentioned in the Trivia section, such as in the following example:

Jeff says to Beth, "So we beat on, boats against the current." This is a quote from the last line of the novel "The Great Gatsby" by [link=nm0280234].

([link=nm0280234] creates a link to the page for F. Scott Fitzgerald.)

@gromit82 Hey there! Thank you so much for letting me know - much appreciated. I have done as you've said, but IMDb wants to rather move it to the "Movie Connection" category. Can that also work?

taxi: The Movie Connections section is only relevant to situations where there is an IMDb-eligible title at both ends of the connection. Examples:

  • a movie that refers to another movie
  • a television show that refers to another television show
  • a videogame that refers to a movie
  • a podcast that refers to a videogame
  • a music video that refers to a television show
  • and so on.

Since movies, television shows, videogames, podcasts, and music videos are all IMDb-eligible titles, it is possible to enter connections between any of them into IMDb.

But a book is not an IMDb-eligible title, so the Connections section won't work for that.

If you post here the connection you are trying to submit, you may get some additional advice.
