How is a title being made up by the contributor not a reason for deletion?

I have tried to delete the completely made up titles for the first 8 series of Death in Paradise. The deletions have been declined because apparently "none of the episodes have titles" isn't a reason to remove them. You didn't even bother to ask for evidence, just said there was no reason for removal given. This isn't even the only series with made up titles that I've tried to correct, last time you demanded evidence of something that doesn't exist. It would take maybe 30 seconds to check the titles the BBC didn't give the episodes.

Hi StayWilde- In order for our staff to further investigate and review, can you post the 18-digit submission reference numbers for these declined contributions? Cheers!

If the only explanation was "none of the episodes have titles" then the contribution being declined is not surprising. In the absence of any other pointers to where to find the information, it takes more than 30 seconds to verify that the episodes do not have titles. You could refer to the official BBC site https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01pvmf6/episodes/guide where the episodes are listed as "Episode 1" etc. You could point out that on BBC iPlayer the first episode is listed as "Series 1: Episode 1" with no other title. You could also point out that the opening titles for the first episode which is still available on iPlayer end at 05:29 with the series title and there is no episode title. Verification of that would require access to iPlayer and that may not be available to IMDb staff - especially those outside the UK. I find that if you want information deleted, or even corrected, it is best to supply as much supporting information as you can from the beginning. I think it is right that the episodes of this series should not have titles - apart perhaps from the ones listed as "Christmas Special" on the official site.

Well that was condescending, and rather childish. An impressive combination. I didn't only write that "none of the episodes have titles", so don't misquote me as an excuse to have a pop. I shouldn't have to give the link to the BBC website, and it does take about 30 seconds check iPlayer, because there's a link to it on every single title page of every single episode on this site. I explained several times that the episode titles given by the BBC are just the episode numbers, I was told this was unverifiable. It's only recently that the response has changed to claiming there's no reason for a change, because I said the only way to verify things like titles was to check with the BBC, and apparently that was too much work. Also, the fact that the episode titles don't exist and were made up by a contributor actually is a reason to remove them. I can't believe I've just had to explain that.

@StayWilde- The episode titles have now been corrected for this series. The changes are still on-going but will be live on the site shortly. If you encounter this issue again, it's always best to include as much supporting evidence and further explanation within the submission directly, just as @owenrees pointed above. Cheers!
