How do I remove a "credit" attributed to my non industry working husband?

I have tried numerous times to get a "credit" removed that has been attributed to my husband.

He has never worked in our industry and is actually a medically retired Lt Col (USAF).

If any of you can do it, please, PLEASE, help me.

I am Marianne Muellerleile, married to Joseph T. Norris, Jr.

IMDB says he worked electric on KWOON (2004).

Please remove it for me or tell me how to get it removed.

Thanks,

Marianne

Hi @marianne_muellerleile,

I have looked into your problem report and can see that we were previously unable to verify your credit deletion request.

Our aim is to be the most complete and reliable source of movie, TV, and entertainment information on the web. In order to continue offering our users an accurate and trustworthy service, it is our policy not to alter or delete any kind of correct/factual information from our records.

We believe the data listed is factual, as such we cannot remove this as requested.

However, if you are able to provide evidence to support your deletion request, please resubmit the deletion with evidence attached so that we may review your request. Please visit our help guide page for submitting evidence for more information.

I hope this helps!

@Ozzy

How does she prove a negative?

It's like... I order and pay for a steak with a side of potato wedges and asparagus for delivery, and they don't send the sides... I e-mail them, and they say "please send pictures as proof"

Like huh?

Note, that she didn’t really say that the credit is not factual. Mainly that the person doesn’t work in the industry. So at least more info about this credit is needed.

@eboy

She did not say "He does not work in the industry". She, said and I quote:

He has never worked in our industry

(Emphasis mine.)

@Ozzy Thank you for your reply.

I am interested in knowing why you deemed this credit as factual?

And how do I prove something that is not factual?

I can have my husband write you a letter saying it is not factual, that he has never worked in the industry in any capacity.  Would that do it?

I could send you a copy of his military ID or a copy of a government letter saying since he is a disabled vet our house taxes are reduced. I could probably get one of his doctors to verify he has been under the doctors care and that my husband has been physically unable to perform such work since he was medically discharged in 1990!

Honestly, there has got to be a way that is not complicated.

Isn't it enough that you look at my credits, over 200, see that I have ben in the industry 50 years, that I am married to this man for 35 years, and I tell you, he has never worked on KWOON or any entertainment job ever?

It truly bothers me that you have listed my husband as having this "credit" when in fact it is an error, and it diminishes he heroic service to our country.

Please tell me what proof you need to remove this error from my page.

Thanks,

Hi @marianne_muellerleile,

We believe that there is a Tom Norris credited on screen in the title 'Kwoon'. We have removed the spouse information and reverted the name page to Tom Norris as it was originally added. This credit will not be removed, it may not belong to your husband but we believe it belongs to a Tom Norris and therefore will remain on IMDb.

I hope this helps!

@Ozzy  I appreciate that you have made some changes but I do not understand why this is still linked to my page, and my husband's name of Joseph T. Norris, Jr.?

I just went to my page, and clicked on my husbands name in my bio and it went to this Tom Norris who did KWOON.

Why not give this guy his own page on IMDB?

By leaving it connected to my husband name you imply that it is my husband.

Tell me what I can do to prove to you that my husband is not the Tom Norris who did KWOON.

Please.

Thanks,

Hi @marianne_muellerleile,

The changes we have made are still in progress, I expect them to appear live on the site shortly but in some cases, they could take up to 24 hours to update across all platforms.

Once complete, Tom Norris will have his own IMDb name page and will not be appear connected to your name page.

Thanks!

@Ozzy Oh my goodness, I am over the moon about this. I can not tell you how truly grateful I am.

I have prayed about this, I have tried, I have given up, and yet, here we are, and it is happening.

Thank you so very, very, much.

It's 3:17A in LA and way past my bedtime but this is worth not getting enough sleep.

I'll check my page in two days.

Saying prayers of thanksgiving tonight, for you and whatever petitions you may have.

Thank you and God bless you,

@Ozzy Thank youu so much.

I've just visited my page and see that in the process you have removed my husband name and our marriage completely.

I did consider this as a possible way to solve my problem, but I am proud of being married to my husband and want that on my page.

Can I add him back without risking that I will have the same problem?

Thanks.

Going on a 2 hour zoom now.  Will come back to this afterwards.

Gratefully,

Marianne Muellerleile

Marianne: To re-submit your marriage information, go to your bio page at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0611127/bio/. Click "Edit page".

On the next screen, on the Marriage Details line, select "Add 1 item". Click "Continue".

On the next screen, enter your husband's name in regular order, with no comma after his surname:

Joseph T. Norris Jr.

Since he is not listed in IMDb, make sure that the "Listed in IMDb" box is unchecked.

On the "From" line, enter the day, month, and year of your marriage.

On the "To" line, leave the boxes saying "Day", "Month", and "Year", and check the "present?" box.

On the "Note" line, leave the box as saying "Choose".

If you have children from this marriage, then on the "Children" line, select the number of children from the drop-down box. Otherwise leave that box as saying "Choose".

Click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, your data should appear with a green background and you should be able to click "Submit these updates".

Allow a few days for this update to be processed.

I can't guarantee that there won't be errors in the future with respect to credits being assigned to your husband. On the other hand, there is no reason to think that there will be errors like that, either. For such errors to appear, someone would have to actually submit new, incorrect data; it wouldn't just happen automatically.

Good luck!
