How do I add myself to IMDB?
I'm a composer, and one of my projects has an IMDB page. But it only has like 3 of the people who worked on the project listed, and nobody is listed as composer.
I tried to add myself following the instructions, but it only allows you to add profiles from the database. This would be my first credit to appear on IMDB, so I don't already have a profile. I'm not sure how to create one for myself and can't find instructions in the help files. All the FAQs assume the profile already exists. I'm not looking to spend $150 to become an IMDB pro, so do I just not get added to IMDB?

Update: Finally got it to work. You just have to keep clicking the "Re-check these updates" button as well as click around until it gives you the option to "upload evidence." Then you can add the screenshot from the credits and submit it. I will update when I hear back from the processing team!

Roskovair: You don't need to pay any money just to get your credit listed on IMDb or establish a profile. Rather, when you enter your name as part of the submissions process, if it is a name that would be new to the database as yours is, you should get a warning that says something like this:
followed by a list of similar-sounding names. But near the end of the list, you should see a choice that says something like this:
Choose that option and click "Re-check these updates".
On the next screen, you should see a message like this:
You should then be able to proceed with your submission and click "Submit these updates" once everything in your data submission is showing up with a green background.
Once your first credit has been accepted into the database, you will automatically have an IMDb name page.
If you still have problems, please post screen shots of what you are submitting here so that we can give you specific instructions rather than explanations in the abstract.
Good luck!

rosko: You don't need recommendations to show up because you already know that your name is not in the database yet. So misspelling your surname as "vai" instead of "vair" isn't going to get you the correct result, and I don't recommend doing that; it's best to submit things correctly the first time.
I see that you are trying to use an all-lower case name, which is unusual, but you can indeed submit it that way. You should enter your name as it actually is, in last name first format, like this:
