How do I add movie certificate ratings?

I've been having trouble doing this for a while now. My film is rated R, so how do I add a certificate rating on IMDb?

World: Is this an R rating for the USA, issued by the MPA? If so, usually the MPA sends its ratings to IMDb directly, so you shouldn't need to submit it yourself. Or is this a rating from another country?

Did the MPA rate your film? Do you have documentation from them?

@bderoes Well the movie is rated R for sexual content, nudity, strong language and graphic violence.

You're not answering the question.

Rated by WHOM, and do you have documentation?

@bderoes Here is proof if you don't know.

@bderoes I do have documentation. The film was already made by some guy named Joseph Joggle, who is me.

@bderoes Rated by whom? I actually watched it for tests and I rated it by the MPAA.

Since you have documentation from MPA, then upload that, and when performing the IMDb Edit, provide the URL to that document.

For more info, see the "Submitting Evidence" section on this Help page:

I'm not sure that providing the certificate number is sufficient.

But when you Edit Page for the title, search for the word Certificate, choose Add 1, and for more help use the small blue (?) icon on the far right of the item.

If you're going to use the upload above, do the editors a favor, and provide the permalink directly to that reply.

Huh?

Just paste in the permalink itself as described here:

Submitting evidence

  1. Upload these screen-grabs of your evidence on the Web where we can access it and make a note of the links/URLs pointing to it. The information must be publicly accessible on the web, so do not upload anything you are not comfortable sharing

  2. Find your original submission in your update history at Update History

  3. Verify that all the data is still valid. If you need to update/amend the information, you can do so now.

  4. While re-submitting the information, select the option "Provide an explanation to assist in processing this submission"

  5. Input the URL's for your evidence, providing as much information as possible.

  6. Submit the form.

Moovex: I just searched for your film title at the MPA ratings website, https://www.filmratings.com/ , and I didn't see it listed.

One can't self-apply an R rating in the U.S. The R rating is a trademark (as are the G, PG, PG-13, and NC-17 ratings) and can only be used when the MPA has officially rated a film as such.

As advised, a U.S. film rating is officially provided by the MPAA only. Your film has not been reviewed or rated by the MPAA so you cannot list an MPAA rating on your title.
