Mainestay: To be precise, is the title not in the database at all, or is it just not showing up in the search drop down box?

For example, if I search for "balance" in the search box, among the films I will find in the drop down box are The Favourite (2018) and Throw Momma from the Train (1987), but not Balance (1989). On the other hand if I click on "See all results for 'balance'", I will find the film I was looking for.

If a film is in the database but not in the search drop down box, I don't think there is anything you can do to promote it to the drop down box.

But if the film is not in the database at all, you can submit it to IMDb using the form that starts at https://contribute.imdb.com/updates?update=title and continues on succeeding screens. If you run into problems along the way, you can always come back here and ask.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

@gromit82  Iam brand new to this and I'm trying to compile lists on IMDB instead of notebooks. Both movies that I wanted to add to my list are in the database. One of them was a film called Possession with a hugely well known cast led by Gwyneth Paltrow. Seems very odd that it would be left out. Kind of annoying. Thank you for answering my question though!

Thanks very much for that. I am not computer savvy. Where do I find the link for the title page? I just typed in Possession into the IMDB search engine and it was among several other Possession related titles.

Hi Mainestay22 -

When you are on the IMDb title page for the film you can find the link to the title page within your browser:

I hope this helps!
