How are credits verified?
Hi - this may have been answered in the past (probably several times), but I've recently submitted updated/corrected credit listings for 2 movies - Apex (2021) and Christmas Movie Magic (2021) - and on both occasions, only some of those credits have been approved, while others have been returned as "unverified". This is puzzling to me, as I don't understand how some credits are okay and others, for. the same movie, aren't. How are these verifications being sourced/checked?

Hi nigel2001 -
In addition to using as many sources as we can, our data goes through consistency checks to ensure it's as accurate and reliable as possible. There are many reasons why some credits are approved while others are not, for example, if some of the credits belong to high-profile cast/crew these credits would require further evidence before we can approve them.
For the credits that have not yet been approved, I encourage you to re-submit them with verifiable evidence (call sheets, pay stubs, contracts, reputable media article mentions, etc.), once re-submitted with additional evidence our editors can take another look. You can find details on what to include and how to provide evidence links on our Help Guide.
Once you resubmit the credits with evidence our editors will take another look.
I hope this helps!
