'Host' as director or writer?

There are some series or films where they always refer to themselves as 'host,' and I don't know if that belongs to the director or writer. But I suspect it belongs to the director, because host is supposed to mean that they're leading the projects. But I don't really know either.

Hi Ravendark-'Host' is usually credited under the 'Self' or 'Cast' section (if the person appears on-screen), not as a director or writer.Being a host does not automatically mean the person directed or wrote the content—those are separate roles and should only be credited if the person actually performed those functions.If you have an example that you are not sure about how are they being presented as 'host' on the given film/series, you can post it here and our staff can take a look.Cheers!
