Solved

Heroes All (1920) / Heroes All (1931)

A single IMDb page for many years now has been conflating two unrelated films. The films happen to share the same title and similar subject matter, but one is a short silent documentary film from 1920 and the other is a feature-length documentary film from 1931.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1268873/

The overwhelming majority of information on the above page matches the description of the 1931 film, according to the American Film Institute (https://catalog.afi.com/Film/6365-HEROES-ALL). This includes the director, producer, production company, plot outline, most of the keywords, etc. There are three key pieces of information, however, that are incorrect: the 1920 release date, the National Film Registry award, and the sound mix being recorded as "silent". These attributes all belong to the unrelated 1920 film of the same title.

I have submitted two contributions to begin the process of fixing this issue. Firstly, I've deleted the inaccurate release date and sound mix attributes for the existing title page. Secondly, I have submitted a new title to represent the 1920 film.

Contribution #260504-045904-235000

Contribution #260504-050018-169000

After these changes are approved, the National Film Registry award should be transferred from the old title to the new title, since the description provided by the Library of Congress makes it clear that the 1920 film is the one that was chosen.

Hi majfoalbkeopaza-

Thank you for posting the references! Taking a look, I can see that these submissions are still pending processing and they will be reviewed accordingly.

Cheers!

@Maya Hi Maya - two of the edits for the 1931 film (contribution #260504-045904-235000) have just come back rejected as "does not meet contribution guidelines": the 1920 release date deletion and the release date edit for 1931 (removing the attribute "re-release mono" since that was in fact the original release and not a re-release). The sound mix deletion for "silent" is still pending.

For the 1920 film, all of my contributions were accepted except for one: the production status of completed was rejected as "not enough evidence".

I can't see what's happening with the transfer of the National Film Registry induction, since there's no option to track awards contributions. However, there has been no change.

Please investigate and/or correct these issues or something. Thanks.

The new title has been approved. Here's the link: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt42334746/

I've made a third contribution which should transfer the National Film Registry award from the old title to the new title.

Contribution #260504-183925-324000

I will return to this thread if there are any further issues or problems.
