Helpfulness Inquiry

I'm just curious if anyone has ever had someone give a "thumbs down" to every review they make? Now, I don't mind if someone disagrees with me because I was taught many years ago in the Army that "disagreement is not disrespect." So, it's no problem. In this specific case, one person might like a film, and another might not. That said, if someone thinks I rated a film too high, all they have to do is write their own review and explain why they didn't like it, or vice versa. That's why it baffles me that someone would go to such lengths to simply "thumbs down" every review, day after day, whether it's good or bad. Quite honestly, I don't even think this person is even reading my reviews; he (or she) is just being childish. It makes no sense. Anyway, I'd like to know if anybody else has ever encountered such weird behavior.

Yeah. It just seems kind of immature to me. Poor guy probably doesn't have a life.

A similar incident occurred about 2 years ago, and the person stopped once IMDb got involved. I don't know what triggered him, but it's possible that I didn't rate a movie as highly as he wanted, so he decided to "get even" by negatively affecting all my reviews. I guess some people are just wired differently and are too emotionally fragile. So, it could be the same person. Personally, I think the Helpfulness item could be improved by removing the "thumbs down" option, as it's open to abuse and can be counterproductive in some circumstances. In any case, although I don't care to know WHO this person is, I must admit I am a bit curious about WHY he's targeted me because, unless he's 11 years old, this behavior seems extremely odd and immature. Anyway, thanks for your help.
