Help removing a credit from IMDb

Hi, I have the same problem.

I have asked IMDb a few times to remove “my” name from a film because:

Firstly, I never gave any permission to anyone to list me there.
Secondly, because I never gave my permission, I had never provided my full name. They only know my shortened name from Facebook, and they allow fake names.
Thirdly, IMDb now evidently lists an imaginary name there.

Fourthly, I am the only person beside of the film crew who can associate me with that name. It bothers me most. Others will not see that relationship.

IMDb now asks me to provide a proof that I am that person listed there. LOL. How???
What I have tried so far: I have provided e-mail conversations with the official contact of the film where the producer/director also wants to remove “my” name from the film. I have also created a fake profile with a fake name equal that fake name listed on the film’s IMDb page. But IMDb still has declined the request. I do not understand it because I thought that fake names would already be enough evidence.

I had asked IMDb to show me/us an evidence that “my” name listed there is correct. Of course, IMDb has no evidence. How should they?

I have set a deadline where I told the producer/director to do everything to remove “my” name there. That was obviously not possible either - so far. But he was able to delete his profile picture because he is scared that I will involve the police and an attorney/lawyer.

I now wait for the deadline - till then he shall try his luck with IMDb.

I am currently creating a list of ca. 100 different Cartoon characters incl. Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. I will then let IMDb add them to the film’s cast & crew as well. I would love to see how it ends up at the end. If IMDb adds those entries as well, it will be the most funny thing I have ever witnessed in my life. And some funfact: If it was added one time, it cannot be corrected again. Please provide a proof that you are Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny - that is the logic of IMDb. ;-)

Yes, IMDb evidently provides misleading/wrong information. Wikipedia has unlisted IMDb as reliable source which I completely understand.

Apropos, I forgot about it. But it is an interesting fact: Theoretically, IMDb is acting quite unfair towards those who do not want to be listed on IMDb and where IMDb had never asked for permission. IMDb forgets here that European citizens are protected by the EU-GDPR. IMDb would need an evidence that the have the permission to list the names of non-celebrities on IMDb. More here: https://gdpr.eu

Amazon should know the EU-GDPR very well because it can become very expensive for them.

IMDb could ask for any copy of the ID of the person who tries to add/modify that information or any other valid legitimation in case it is a company, plus a copy of the signed contracts of all cast & crew which shall have attended the show.

That would be more fair than listing any unverified information on IMDb where they have not even asked for any evidence if the person listed there are okay with it to be listed on IMDb.

Interesting that my last comment about the EU-GDPR got flagged as private now. Did I hit a nerve?
