Helen Howard, silent starS?

Were there two silent film stars working concurrently, both called Helen Howard?

There is one (1899-1927) on IMDb who is a member of the 27 Club, killed in an automobile accident:  https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0064601/

There is also one (1897-1967) on Wikipedia Helen Howard - Wikipedia

Both share the same credits, which is clearly incorrect if they both existed, and it is also hard to see who the selection of pictures on IMDb really belong to, since I cannot find any images of the other one.  It would be good to find a way to separate out these credits if they really did both exist and use identical screen names.  I'm happy to do the work if anyone has any better sources than I can find.

I have moved this to the Data Issues section, as it didn't receive any response in the more general area, but does need sorting for the sake of the site.

@Vande I think it's possible the wiki user just based their bio info (date of birth, date of death, birth name etc.) on a different person with the same name (who is not an actress actually).

I was able to find lots of news for 1927 car accident currently listed on IMDb, and they all talk about the actress, however I'm not able to find any proof of that Helen Wister Davis used on wiki being an actress. And the wikipedia article does not cite any sources for these biographical info. So probably there is a mixup with a different person on the wiki page.

So, date and birth info on IMDb page look more accurate but there are a few small mistakes, birth date is stated as May 2, 1903 (not 1899) in official records, and date death is March 14 not 13 (March 13 is when the accident happened but all the newspapers from the era say she died in hospital in March 14, not when accident happened), death certificate also has March 14 date.

Here are the death certificate and state records if you want to fix these two errors:

@mbmb thank you very much for helping with this research - that is very helpful!

Just realised that means she is not in the infamous 27 Club then, and was actually only 23 :-(

Makes you wonder who this one, with the 1937 credit is . . .

@Vande You're welcome :)

It looks like that was a British singer who was mostly active on radio rather than screen, so it's not related with this American actress. See:

I've changed the Date of Birth to 1903, but she did play a character with "Mrs." in her name in this The Ghost of Rosy Taylor (1918) - IMDb so there is still a chance that there may have been two of them.  Or perhaps 15-year olds played married women in those pre-code days . . .

I dunno, maybe, from what I can tell the sources do not treat it as a different person. Maybe someone familiar with the faces can compare, I found the movie on youtube but quality is not great and I'm not familiar with the faces. Found this good reference book which looks pretty comprehensive and accurate (it has both birth date and death date for her correctly listed for example): https://www.amazon.com/Silent-Film-Necrology-2d-ed/dp/0786445157

And from what I can tell it lists only one Helen Howard as the actress of these movies, and that's the one with 1903 DOB and 1927 DOD.
