Hacked/fake credits

A self-described "Ethical-Hacker and well-known social media specialist" by the name of Ibrahim Hamdan has added over a hundred credits to his name. As far as I can tell, they are all fake: they include a Production Manager credit on a Bond film, 'Free Guy', and 'Thor'; Producer credits on high-profile Korean, Japanese, Indian, and British shows; Director credits on films, TV series, podcasts, and video games; Thanks on the latest Star Trek series. The hacking appears to be a self-promotional technique to drive clicks to his social media pages, which are listed on his IMDb page.

The only reason is to deceive social media platforms like Instagram to give them a "blue tick" by telling them they are a famous person who worked on lots of famous movies and shows. And sadly, it's so easy like this to spam fake credits on IMDb to use in that process. It looks like this guy was successful in deceiving Instagram to get his blue tick by convincing them he really worked on these high profile movies.

This is also appearently a name page hijack incident, I guess initially the page probably had a few correct credits for that older aljazeera employee, then hijacked by this faker and spammed with fake credits and bio info. It would be better if staff can isolate the latter user and delete only his contributions.

Yes most of the affected titles are dult videos but still some people seem to like vandalizing imdb.

@Bethanny Are you not able to isolate submissions from only the malicious user and delete them? When I checked the earliest state of the name page before the hijack, I saw a few credits for a few Al Jazeera productions and these looked valid and likely belonged to this older person who is an Al Jazeera employee mentioned by the OP: https://network.aljazeera.net/en/profile/leadership/ibrahim-hamdan

Like I mentioned in my above first reply, I think the name page was initially correctly representing this older person before it was hijacked and spammed by 2001 born faker.

One of these credits before hijack was for a Al Jazeera production named "About Cinema" and this reliable source indicates these credits were correct: https://venicetvaward.com/winners-and-nominees-2021/

A credit for another Al Jazeera production named "Bekasr taa (Breaking the Chains)" was also likely valid.

Also, all the other data and bio items submitted to page except one bio from a "Al Jazeera Media Network" byline needed to be deleted here. I made a submission for that to make it easier for you, can you approve these deletions?: 230327-010427-251000

@mbmb Hey! Thanks, submission 230327-010427-251000 was all approved and credits for "About Cinema" and "Bekasr taa (Breaking the Chains)" were reinstated.

I missed that at first sorry, and no, limiting it to some user's submissions is not possible as its coming from several accounts.

@Bethanny Thanks, submission 230327-010427-251000 is mostly approved but one item is declined and 2 items are still pending and I think these will be declined as well. Can you approve these too please?
