Goof Additon Declined Because Couldn't be Verified Even With Source Material Listed!

It seems some people are just really stupid or just want to be jerks.  In reference to IMDb update receipt #220608-050144-694000, I listed two new goofs, and like I have been doing for the entire Medici series so far, I always list a source for my goof.  So far for series two I have been using the book, "Magnifico The Brilliant Life and Violent Times of Lorenzo De' Medici.  I go through the index or the Medici family tree to come up with the information to support my goof addition.  On this particular receipt, they declined both goof additions, not because of artistic license, which is still a cheap excuse not to approve the goof, but "Unable to verify."  Horse Hockey!  I gave you the reference down to page number.  Don't go turning down a goof addition just because your too cheap to have the book to refer to.  I don't make things up and you people at IMDB have approved plenty of goof additions in the past.

Hi e8n2 -

As this series is a fictionalized production of the family, it has artistic license and may not perfectly reflect the historical reality.  Our preference is to disallow discrepancies between fact and fiction because these production changes are usually made for dramatic reasons. As such, the items you submitted are instead better suited as Trivia items on the applicable episode title page for the series.

Once you have resubmitted the items as Trivia, our editors will take another look.

I hope this helps!

@Michelle It was NOT declined due to artistic license!  Read my entry again.  It was declined because "Unable to verify."  I have provided the source material.  In the future if you want to turn something down because of "artistic license"  then damn well say that is the reason it is being turned down.  Unable to verify should only be used to ask for more information, not to decline something that has already had the source material identified.

”Unable to verify” is just a few generic terms that IMDb uses. They never really ”explain” anything (if something is rejected). That’s just how it is.

( I personally feel that Trivia is usually a best place to list ”historical errors”. Many people probably don’t actively read Goofs anyway. )

@eboy I've noticed that also.  They would rather leave you baffled and confused as to why they reject something than explain the actual reason why.  That comes down to poor customer service, since even most of us are not pro members, we are still their customer and they are not helping in any way.  That and apparently being filled with a lot of people who are just stupid or jerks.  I have another example that I will put in a separate thread.
