Genre Question: Can Down River (2018) Possibly Be Approved for the Fantasy Genre

I was looking to build a list of really low rated fantasy movies and came across this possible anomaly. Down River(2018) is currently listed under the FANTASY genre. Without having seen the film, it claims that the "film is a remake of 'Fear and Desire' by Stanley Kubrick (1953)." In the past, I come up against the IMDb admins in terms of what qualifies for horror - ParaNorman, Coraline, Perfect Blue. Every time I try to edit these movies into that genre, I am flatly denied.

Before I edit this seemingly errant genre placement? Does this film actually qualify for whatever hidden propriety requirements for the fantasy genre? 

And to a lesser extent/aside why can't we learn what those genre parameters are?
