Genre problem: Are Horror and Animation non compatable genres?

Why were these genre submissions not accepted?

The answer to the question in the subject heading of your post is "no." There are currently 12,641 titles that have both the Horror and Animation genres.

Looks like you are trying to add the Horror genre to these titles. It is debatable whether Horror belongs on these titles -- I can see both sides of the debate.

The genres on these titles have likely been "protected" after IMDb has cycled back and forth in a tug of war between contributors as to whether the Horror genre belongs on them. I often see similar protections on very popular titles that are in the gray area as to certain genres.

The staff apparently does not consider Caroline to be Horror, but I would request to know why?  How does it NOT meet IMDb's guidelines?  (Also asking for the other titles mentioned above.). Can a film not be both Horror AND Fantasy?

A film can indeed be both Horror and Fantasy. There are currently 34,790 titles with both genres assigned to them.

Fantasy, Horror (Sorted by Release Date Descending)

The question, of course, is not whether two types of genres can be applied to titles in general, but rather whether these particular titles are deserving of the Horror genre.

IF one does a Google search on "Popular Horror Animated Films," among the first titles listed are "Coraline," "Monster House," "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Corpse Bride."

Perhaps, per chance, IMDb need to rethink this issue.  Perhaps, per chance, someone on the staff is being a bit too subjectively and personally restrictive in their thinking.

You do know that this doesn't have anything to do with the issue you raised right? All that matters is whether or not a title fits the definition IMDb has made.
