French sections of IMDB to correct/improve

Hi,

I am a French native, so French has no secrecy for me:-). That is why, as a regular IMDB user in France, I noticed two mistakes and one thing to improve regarding series on the French IMDb version.

Nota Bene: I think this French version of IMDb is only accessible for Smartphones (computers/desktops using only English native IMDb version?). However, I am not sure. Anyway, at least, I noticed the problem on my Smartphone (iPhone), which is my main device to go on IMDb.

1- Incorrect spelling for series directors:

In French, the singular of « series » is « série ». It’s only for the plural that you write « séries » (with a « s »). So, you have to write « Série réalisée par » instead of « Séries réalisées par » (there are indeed not several series at the same time on an IMDb page).

2- Incorrect spelling for series writing credits:

For the series, the French section of writers includes a spelling mistake on « Crédits » written « Credirs » (unknown word in French). The correct spelling is indeed « Crédits écrits de la série ».

3- Confusing translation of « Language(s) » for series and episodes:

The translation of « Language(s) » in French (in « Details » section) is not always the same for « series ». Sometimes, it’s « Langues dans le film » and sometimes, it is « Versions ». Both should be changed I think in « Langue(s) »:

a- « Versions » is the most confusing. It could mislead the reader in thinking there are different dubbed versions used, which has nothing to do with the native languages used in the series. I first did not understand what it meant when I went on the French IMDb version.

b- « Langues dans le film » (« Languages used in the movie ») is clearer but sometimes wrong also. Indeed, when it’s a series (or the episode of a series), it’s not a film/movie, so you cannot use it.

The direct translation of « Language(s) » (title used in native English IMDb) in French is « Langue(s) ». So, why did you feel the need to add « dans le film » (« in the movie ») for France and use it both for the movies (ok) and for the series (ko). I would say the shortest the best, so use « Langue(s) » everywhere. Otherwise, you will have to differentiate the title used in movies, series and episodes (3 different titles depending on what it is) : « Langues dans le film », « Langues dans la série », « Langues dans l’épisode ».
