Fremantle

I was adding the company Fremantle to a title where it is credited, but I'm not sure about the options.

Fremantle [us] is the only listing with the simple, current company name. But the company is European in origin and its headquarters are in London.

There are many other listings which represent former names or specific departments or countries.

Should a new listing be added – Fremantle [gb]?

Hi there,

Please note that companies should no longer have separate IMDb pages for each region they have distribution or sales credits in. If a certain company has distribution or sales credits in more than one region, then those credits should all appear on a single page.If you want to add a distribution or sales branch then please refrain from adding a new entity.

A new listing is only acceptable if the headquarters in this case is a production entity. Please check our guide here https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/industry-professional/companies-data/GM45NQ429VURNCSG?ref_=helpart_nav_5#regio

I have read your guidelines. I have never been under the impression that companies should have separate IMDb pages for each region they have distribution or sales credits in.

I just want a page for the multinational production and distribution company Fremantle, which is based in London.

I have to say that this issue can be a bit confusing and complicated. A company like Fremantle operates fully in Scandinavia, producing titles/series from start to finish in countries like Sweden. They’re a production company, not just some foreign branch that is doing ”distribution or sales” and happen to have side-office in Sweden. It sounds strange to add some British company as a production company to some series that is produced and distributed in Sweden only - and in Swedish language only.

And someone could probably quit their day job and start correcting all the existing companies related to this alone. Mission impossible. But good luck.
