Five crew contributions declined — requesting specific reasons (UK factual/documentary)
Hello,
I'm a documentary producer and director in the UK. Five contributions to my name page have been declined with "Does not meet contribution guidelines." I'd be grateful for the specific reason for each, so I can resubmit correctly rather than repeat the same error.

BBC Eye Investigations — the most substantial of these. I worked on this BBC strand across multiple films between 2018 and 2025, in several capacities depending on the production: Producer, Director, Editor and Cinematographer. My involvement was with the strand over a number of years rather than with one episode, which is why I submitted at series level. I appreciate that may be the wrong route, and I'd like to be told the right one.
My questions:
- Multiple roles across multiple episodes. What is the correct submission structure — one submission per role per episode, or can multi-episode crew involvement be recorded at strand level? I want to file these properly rather than flood the queue.
- Series-level crew. On Go Back to Where You Came From my role was series-wide, not episode-specific. Should that still be attributed to individual episodes?
- Non-standard job titles. My on-screen credit on that series is "Access Producer," which isn't in the job title list. Should I use Additional Crew with the exact wording, or map it to the nearest standard title?
- Departmental submissions. Is an entry such as "production team" ever acceptable where the specific role isn't visible in the credits, or does every credit require a specific verifiable job title?
I can supply supporting documentation, including production company confirmation, for all of these.

Mo: I can't address all of your questions, but I do know that "access producer" is an accepted job title in the Producers section of IMDb, just not a common job title. It is also used in the Additional Crew section, but less frequently.
When submitting a job title that is not one of the more common job titles in the department (as "access producer" would be for the Producers department), just type the full job title in the Role box if it is not one of the selections in the drop-down box.
Hopefully the IMDb staff or other contributors here will be able to advise you as to your other questions.

The credits were rejected because they must be submitted on a episode level instead of adding them to the main TV Series page. You can re submit to the episodes that they were credited for, you can find help and instructions in the Help Articles.
