Film festival question - Berlinale?

Hi.

I came across with a film that was shown at the Berlin International Film Festival (AKA Berlinale) in 1983. However, it was not part of the "main" competition, but shown in the "Info-Schau" category (which changed its name to "Panorama" in 1985, I believe). Same festival, but it's not very uncommon that some films are screened outside the main competition.

Perhaps this is mentioned somewhere, but what's IMDb's policy with these type of cases? I mean there are probably already several different entries to the "same" festival, "Berlin International Film Festival", "Berlin Film Festival", "Berlinale"... I don't want to create another one if I don't have to.

Currently you choose the release type ("At a festival") and then add the name of the festival in the "additional information". I don't see any place to add an (additional) attribute like "Info-Schau" or "Panorama" (which could be one solution).

Thanks.

The release date guidelines (and update form) say to include the name of the festival. It is not customary to include section titles.

It is not new that festivals have different sections; if they should be included, IMDb probably would have mentioned it.

The difference between being in the main competition and other competitions or sections is also covered in the award pages, where competition titles are listed.

If that's the case, fair enough, but I would say that there's a difference between the film that is part of the main competition, and the film that is shown in "Un Certain Regard" section (let alone films shown out of competition or in other sections).

But I guess this info could be added to the Trivia section.

I can see that some have simply added both names, (Cannes Film Festival) (Un Certain Regard)

A definitive answer would be nice, though. Is this the way to go (in my example):

(Berlin International Film Festival) (Info-Schau)
