Festivals listed in Other Companies
I have just noticed in the Other Companies section of many films listed in IMDb, a Film Festival is sometimes listed i.e. that that film was shown at the Festival, and the role listed solely as "Festival". Listing such Festival participation in Other Companies does not seem like the correct place to list such information. Am I correct in this assumption? Just for information, I noticed that most films that were shown at Sundance this year (2021) had such a listing in the Other Companies section - I made a request to delete all those instances which I found (I would say 90% of the films). Although I have not gone through other Film Festivals or other years, I have noticed the same for other Festivals, such as Cannes, Toronto, SXSW, Tribeca, and Montclair among others.

Can you provide a sample title, URL preferred?
On this Help Center page, it definitely excludes listing festivals as distribution companies:

Does a festival ever contribute financially to the production of a title?

This the company listing page for Dick Johnson Is Dead (2020):

If you look under Other Companies, both the companies Sundance Film Festival and CPH: DOX are listed, both solely as "Festival" (inferring that this movie was shown at the respective Festival).
