Well, I don't approve of the presence of the particular trivia item, and I wouldn't even approve of one reporting upon Roger Ebert's opinion about a movie, unless it was newsworthy, like a critic getting up out of his seat in the auditorium and storming out of the cinema. Trivia items are supposed to be at least a little interesting.

This is something that should be added as an External Review. And I think it kinda goes against this thing mentioned in trivia guidelines under "What sort of things might not be accepted?" as well:

we're happy to accept items along the lines of "This movie was voted #3 in Such-and-Such's Top 1000 Movies poll", as long as it's a list compiled by a major website, publication or TV show. For other polls we may choose to list only those titles in the Top 10 (so "Was voted number 83..." won't be listed).

Right, and I'm barely aware of Joe Rogan's podcasts, so I've definitely never even heard of this "Now Playing" podcast (or I don't recall). On that note, for example, I wouldn't create a trivia item for movie that has nothing to do with Rogan but whereby the trivia is focused purely on the man's reaction to the movie, unless the reaction is unusual enough to be viral, noteworthy or newsworthy in some way. The man being used as an example has discussed or at the very least commented on thousands, if not millions, of things, and that doesn't automatically make those things interesting.

Joe Rogan is known for being a host of a show basically named after himself. I don't happen know the nature of his professional engagement prior to his podcast shows. I would have to look that up. To a small degree, Joe Rogan is a household name, maybe not quite as famous as Justin Bieber, a pop singer whose voice is probably at least somewhat familiar to most inhabitants of North America, but I did observe somebody on here ask who Justin Bieber is, a simple question eliciting a simple answer. Interestingly, a lot of top YouTube content creators aren't very well known outside of the world-wide Web, or in some cases, not to well known outside of YouTube. For nearly a decade, I hadn't seen any of Jimmy Donaldson's work, nor any of Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg's work, nor any of Andrew Tate's work. I think the B' Awadis brothers and Jordi Maxim van den Bussche had a little bit of my attention before Jimmy, Felix and Andrew. I've seen the names Logan Paul and Jake Paul pop up a lot, sometimes in connection with Tydus Talbott, but I've never been able to take an interest in the Pauls' work. None of them are all that well-known outside of YouTube, and even therein their fame is governed by the algorithm, so visitors who take no interest in feel-good stuff won't see their work. Anyway, that's all sort of beside the point.

I should probably point out that Joe Rogan has interviewed Elon Musk, Rosanne Barr, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Gina Carano, Jordan Peterson and Bill Burr, maybe more than once, just to name a few. I've not watched any part of very many of these shows.

I don't know much about Bill Barr, but I recall seeing some interviews he has given. Jordan Peterson is something of a recent sensation. He was a professor of clinical psychology or some variant of psychology, and he became famous for voicing dissent against Canadian federal legislative initiatives to expand the domain of words in the be considered pronouns in the English language. Gina Carano is a wrestler and an actress, kind of tall but maybe not as tall as Gwendoline Christie, both of whom have played in the Star Wars productions of the 2010s. Carano played Kara Dune, some kind of merc, in the first season of The Mandalorian. Neil Degrasse Tyson is a science communicator famous for narrating PBS shows like NOVA. Elon Must is the founder of Space X, the CEO of Tesla and the recently-made sole proprietor of Twitter. He is something of a rocket scientist too. Rosanne Barr is a retired actress famous for She Devil (opposite Meryl Streep) and a 1990s sit com show (shot with a live studio audience and) bearing her given name as its title. As for Joe Rogen, like I stated before, I don't really know much about him. He is mentioned a lot in some broad social circles and independent media.

nah, says nothing to me, i don't follow drama, especially usa one. and i rarely read anything about background on production of movies i watch. i watch art for art not for anything outside the diegesis and i don't have social media

Yeah, I don't have any social media accounts either, except for Discord (if that counts), which I rarely visit. I was banned from Facebook over ten years ago, appealed, was rejected and I never returned. The experience kind of turned me off to wanting an account with any social media venue, which I never thought much of since the beginning, roughly two decades ago. There is just too much god-damned censorship, and too many venues to try to even keep track of anyway. Plus, I sort of just don't fit in anywhere, despite how amazing well these algorithms can tailor recommendations to fit everybody's confirmation biases. I do however monitor some of these sites, largely on account independent short movies that can be found, like on YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, ВКонкатке VKonkatke, and 哔哩哔哩 Bilibili. When I use search engines, a lot of times, I find answers on Quroa, Reddit, Stack Exchange, Server Fault, Stack Overflow and XDA Developers. Usually I watch art for the art in and of itself, but sometimes I do take an interest in what goes on behind the scenes from a technical standpoint or beyond, along with the minds of the people behind these. Gossipers and critics are a dime a dozen, but there are researchers and analysts out there who are able to bring actual uncommon knowledge the the table.

nah all algorithms are as bad as in the 90s and only show highest paying ads and absolutely nothing you would be interested in

in the the last years google refuses to even search for anything just a wall of intentionally irrelevant dribble, while all alternatives ignore syntax

Yeah, I noticed that Google Search and all the supposedly privacy-oriented search engines that tragically depend upon it (instead of doing their own crawling) have turned to crap, either not producing more than one page worth of results or having pages that repeat results for semi-niche topics. At first, I thought I may just be imagining a "problem", but as it turns a whole bunch of people around the folk Internet have noticed this. I don't know. I guess Aldous Huxley's worst fears are close to being fully manifested, with a touch of Eric Blair's worst fears.

There are loads of these ”Now Playing Podcast reviewed..” type of trivia entries. Basically they’re just promotion by the podcasters in question. Since IMDb accepts them (seems that way, at least), they keep adding them.

I didn't know that, eboy. Thanks for pointing it out! I hope these type of trivia items are all removed and no new ones are allowed to go live. I'm not even suggesting that Now Playing be singled out, since similar things concerning WatchMojo and Looper shouldn't be allowed either.

Hi agof & all-

Thank you for reporting this issue with this trivia! This trivia has now been removed as it is invalid and the changes are already live on the site.

Just as eboy mentioned, there were a lot of these and I have just removed all of them. Further actions have been taken as well to prevent invalid additions. Just in case, if you happen to see any other that were missed, please report them to us so that we can clean them up.

Thank again for reporting!

Cheers!
