Falsely credited

Over the past several months, someone has falsely credited me with many projects that, unfortunately, I did not work on. I have submitted each one (took an hour and a half one evening) for removal WITH the explanation that I did not work on said productions and the person(s) who submitted me should be informed that they have the wrong actor. IMDb has declined my requests stating that they could not verify that. If I'm saying I never worked on these things, what proof would even be in existence that I could give?

Hi lmcarol -

Can you post the 18-digit submission reference number associated with the recently declined credit update?

Once we have these details our staff can take a look.

Cheers!

Hi @lmcarol -

Thanks for confirming.  The incorrect credits have now been removed from your page.

Cheers!

@Michelle Thank you! I don't even know how someone could have mis-credited me. My name is unique. Also, most of those were shows/movies from over 2 decades ago. Anyway, I appreciate your assistance in clearing it up before someone accused me of lying about my credits.

@Michelle Hi again, Michelle. I appreciate your help in correcting the mis-credited projects. They "were" removed. However, several of them have been RE-ADDED! What is going on? Who is being so insistent that I am this Muppeteer/Puppeteer? I'm sorry to say that I am not one, and have never worked as one on any of these projects. Do you have any insight on this?  Thank you.

You’re sure it’s not another person with the same (or very similar) name? I mean I doubt that someone starts adding puppeteer credits to your page out of the blue. Usually it’s a mix-up.

@eboy I remember checking some of these added credits and I could not find such credit in productions itself. It may be some kind of weird way to harass someone.

@mbmb They're all old credits, except for one current series. It would definitely be a weird way to harass. I mean, get a job, will ya! Right?
