false ratings
can anyone sort out the problem with false ratings. the film bagman only gets released today 27 sept 2024. yesterday it had 50 or more 78 this morning ratings despite not being released yet. not one review. i would wager many of these are fake. cant imdb delete these scores and only allow a rating on or after release date. i appreciate screenings can allow people to rate but surely denying that facility is the lesser of 2 evils than allowing fake ratings.

It's fewer than 100 ratings. It will self correct when many viewers watch the film.
Also, the 1s and 10s are about equal in number and cancel off. The unweighted mean is 5.4 and the median is 5, so 5.8 is pretty fair it seems

Our voting system already detects and defeats attempts to stuff the ballot and skew the rating, as demonstrated by the difference between the weighted average and the arithmetic mean on the vast majority of titles in the database.
