Fake cartoon information (The Woody Woodpecker Show)

The Woody Woodpecker Show is a series that ran on television for four seasons from 1958 to 1977. (There's a large gap of time between each season.)

Each episode included three theatrical cartoons.

A contributor has rejiggered the series so that it treats each theatrical cartoon as a separate episode.

And because the theatrical cartoons began in 1940, IMDb lists the TV series as having begun in 1940.

Two things need to be done with this series.

1. All the episodes are fake. Each one needs to be merged with the listing for its corresponding theatrical cartoon.

For example:

Knock Knock (1940) (fake TV episode)
Knock Knock (1940) (genuine theatrical short subject)

The fake episode for Knock Knock (1940) must be removed from the TV series. The information from it must be merged with the page for the true film.

(Or you could make life easy for yourselves and just delete it. I'm not sure the fake TV episode has much information not already included on the page for the film.)

2. The true episodes for this series must be added. All of them are listed on this Wikipedia page:

The Woody Woodpecker Show (Wikipedia)

The screenshot below shows how the episodes should be listed on IMDb.

For example:

Season one, episode one (Ep. 1.1) should be listed as such:

Who's Cookin' Who?/The Overture to William Tell/Bathing Buddies (October 3, 1957)

Each episode contains original material, but almost all of it is archive footage.

Hi @jay_spirit -

I will do a ticket to get this cleanup, since it's a pretty big cleanup.

Are all 286 listed as individuals and part of the series? or are some of them just listed as episodes?

Let me know so I can detail that on the ticket.

Cheers!

All the episodes are fake except this one:

Life Begins for Andy Panda/Pied Piper of Basin Street/A Moment with Walter Lantz/Knock Knock

The rest of the pages all refer to theatrical short subjects (each of which is already listed on IMDb as such).

The easiest thing to do would be to remove all the fake episodes and then let me add the correct ones.

If you don't want to lose the information from the fake episodes you can merge each of them with the corresponding theatrical short.

But that seems to me like a waste of time. All you would lose by deleting them is a few pictures and some user votes. Most of the information is already on the correct pages.

P.S. None of the information in the fake episodes can be used for the real episodes.

Each true episode features three theatrical cartoons.

As such, the theatrical cartoons would be considered archive footage. They would be listed in the Movie Connections section of each episode.

The credits and other information from these cartoons would not be transferred over to the TV episodes.

Hi @jay_spirit -

Thanks for all the extra information. I have taken care of the cleanup myself. Merged some of them with information worth keeping. Deleted all the rest. You can now add any missing pieces.

Cheers!

@Bethanny At the moment, the entire series seems to be missing. Is that temporary?

The series is real, but all the episodes (save one) were fake.

@jay_spirit Oh that is my bad, will reinstate. And move the episode back there, give it a little to load.

Thanks!
