External reviews, publish the name of the reviewer?

Hello,

I have seen on the external reviews page for the movie Arrival (for example) that most people post their actual name in the link

Others write:

YouTube [CrashLanded]

Ziprett [Nicoletta] (German)

This Is Barry

Is there a general rule? Are real names mandatory?

Horst: Here is how the description of an external review is to be formatted, as I understand it:

Name of website [Reviewer's name as given there, if not identical to the website name] (Language if not English)

It doesn't matter whether the name of the reviewer is a real name or an obvious pseudonym. Just recently I submitted several reviews as links, some where the reviewer was given as [Steve Rhodes] and others where the reviewer was given as [Ubiquitous]. "Ubiquitous" is unlikely to be the person's real name, but that's the name they gave, so that's what I listed.

In the case of "This Is Barry", I don't see a byline on the page at https://www.thisisbarry.com/film/arrival-2016-movie-plot-ending-explained/, so I wouldn't include a reviewer's name there.

@gromit82 Thanks a lot gromit, very competent answer. So it is totally okay to omit the name as well if it's not stated and post nothing but the name of the website?

@Horst Yes, if the reviewer's name is not stated, just omit it.
