Episodes not listed for actor in TV Series

Adam Sandler https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001191/ acts in Episode of Saturday Night Live in 2019, but in his credits there is info that he played in Episodes of the same Series from 1990 - 1995

In the Episode of 2019 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10182302/ he is credited as Self - Host / Various, that part Various should be calculated and his credits for Saturday Night Live should be 1990 - 2019

Is this a bug in the system?
This is just one example, it is happening with other actors and TV Series.

Hi de_crecy -

On a sketch-comedy series where an individual is both the Host and performs sketch-acting roles, our preference is that the credit is listed once under the format:

"Self - Host / Various"   or  "Self - Host / character name / character name"

For example:

We will list the credit under the applicable "Actor/Actress" section on the site only when the individual only performs an acting role.

I hope this helps clarify!

@Michelle technically is not possible for the actor to be listed in both sections "Self" and "Actor" for the same episode or this is just IMDb preference?

The Self credits fall in a different category.

Yes, I know that, but he is credited "Self - Host / Various", Self should be in that category, but Various should be listed in the actors category.

He has previous episodes where he is credited as Various and he is listed in actor category (see first picture from my post).

When the "character" begins with "Self", it's Self.

Adding things beyond Self doesn't change that.

Are you proposing that it should be listed in both categories? I believe that's something IMDb does not want.

Duration of this episode https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10182302/ is 1h 30min. and Adam Sandler is Self - Host for 10min. in the rest 1h 20min. he plays different roles in different sketches (Various) and because Self is written first in the credits we ignore the rest 1h 20min. from the episode. I don't think that's right.

I don't know what IMDb wants, but I think it is correct the episode to be listed in "Self" and in "Actor" category, because that's the right way.

@de_crecy As said before, IMDb doesn’t give two different credits for ”Self” and ”acting” for the same episode or film. You could of course argue that which one comes first, though. I guess IMDb prefers ”Self” in those situations.
