Embassies and High Commissions country codes
IMDb rule book about companies looks OK: «Company names must include country codes in brackets. There is a list of country codes.» The country is where the company has its headquarters, right? Alright! I agree with that... but!... Today, I had to enter a Thanks to the "Indian High Commission" for the movie SAMUNDAR (1986), and was confronted with a warning (see enclosure). I understand that the Indian High Commission [in] in Maldives [mv] facilitated things to the movie shooting in Maldives - OK beaches but wonderful underwater scenes of corals and fishes, not to be missed! I have not a degree on Law, but know some basic principles, such as that both Embassy and High Commission are entities (companies, in the large sense adopted in IMDb) that belong to the State that establishes them, NOT to the country where they are established. Wikipedia explains «What is the difference between Indian Embassy and High Commission? Both serve as vital diplomatic missions that represent their home countries, protect citizens abroad, and promote bilateral relations. However, embassies primarily function in non-Commonwealth nations, while high commissions operate exclusively within Commonwealth countries.» I had to create anew "Indian High Commission" [in] when there was already one "Indian High Commission" [gb]. See print screen enclosed. I did not go for this option, because I respect Indian independence from Great Britain, and because I believe the former Indian colony didn't create High Commissions anywhere... Question is... did I do wrong, or about 20+ users did before me, when they made the option for the country where the High Commission is functioning? The question raises a problem, probably extensive to Embassies' country codes in IMDb, but I did not check on those.

Hi artemis_9- Thank you for the report! Embassies and other govermental organizations should be identified by the code of the country of origin. In whcih case, with the example above, "Indian High Commission"[gb] should be [in] instead and has been corrected. Cheers!
