Dubbing mixer credits constantly rejected

Every time I submit one of my dubbing mixer credits recently it gets rejected as "Does not meet contribution guidelines." but I have no idea what guidelines it's failing.

Note this is the UK definition of "dubbing mixer", which means it's the original sound mix in the original language, and I was credited on the original broadcast.

This seems to happen every time I submit dubbing mixer credits, but similar submissions for re-recording mixer (for US shows) always get approved instantly.

Any idea why this happens, and what I can do to get my credits approved?

There have been some problems with ”dubbing mixer” credits in the past. Dub credits are not usually accepted and many times the so-called ”dub credits” happen after the main credits (they’re added to DVD/Blu-rays, and also streaming sites - but they’re not usually considered as a part of the original credits). Not sure about this case, though.

Yeah unfortunately the two are completely different, "Dubbing mixer" is the UK term for the original re-recording that goes up on the main credits, but as you say IMDB thinks a dubbing mixer is some who dubs the mix of another language.

I've tried adding notes to previous submissions explaining that, even linking to the show's credits on the BBC iPayer and taking screen-grabs as proof but this seems to get ignored, leaving me unable to add correct credits.

Hi heyaudio -

I have now approved these recent credit updates and they should be live on the site shortly.  Going forward, if you are submitting credits with verifiable evidence links (such as call sheets, contracts, credit roll screen grabs) and these submissions are continuing to be declined, let us know the 18-digit submission reference numbers so our staff can investigate further.

Cheers!

@Michelle

Hi my latest submissions have been rejected again.

#220711-092055-815000

#220711-091705-309000

Please note, I included the following note with my submissions "dubbing mixer is the UK term for re-recording mixer. It does not refer to dubbing the show into a new language, instead it means the original sound mixer for the original language broadcast" and yet my submissions were still rejected

I emailed the support team stating this and got the following response

Please be aware that in most cases, dubbing credits are not eligible to be included in sound department listing for a film or TV show.

We normally only list people who were credited in the original version of a animation or video game title, we do not list credits for dubbing with the exception of the US dub of non-English animation."

Clearly your IMDB support team do not read submission notes as I explained just that to them

@Michelle Hi Michelle, I've just tried submitting this dubbing mixer credit

#220720-092902-942000

and it's been declined again

I submitted the following note along with it:

"Please note: "dubbing mixer" is the UK terms for re-recording mixer, meaning a this dubbing mixer credit refers to the original sound mix, in the original language, credited on the original broadcast of the show It does not mean dubbing as in dubbing the show into another language, it is the original sound mix"

I also submitted a link to view the show where the credit can be seen

Hi @heyaudio -

These credits for "The Jubilee Pudding: 70 Years in the Baking (2022)" and "Made in Chelsea" have now been approved.  Cheers!
