Does Not Meet Contribution Guidelines

231219-120420-429000

 Hello.

Over the past three or four years I have made thousands of contributions to IMDB - additions and amendments. I rarely post here as nearly all of them have been accepted. However, the above contribution was thrown back at me as "does not meet contribution guidelines".

This has left me puzzled to say the least. It is a cast addition with the usual format - actor name/character name/"uncredited". I am not even given the opportunity to provide more evidence.

Could someone from IMDB please tell me what the problem is???

Thank you.

Hi @keith_chanter -

I suspect that the reason this credit was declined was due to the descriptive character name.  I have now resubmitted the credit on your behalf with the modified character name "Volunteer Sailor" and it should be approved without any issues.

Cheers!

@Michelle

Hi! I am having this same issue of a contribution being declined with "does not meet contribution guidelines" as the reason. I am trying to add my first contribution and I keep getting declined with the reason: Does not meet contribution guidelines. Could someone please help me understand what I am doing wrong? I've uploaded multiple pay stubs. Thank you. Contribution #240723-182140-804000 or Potentially #240724-201250-127000, I tried multiple times and it also will not let me select episodes, I am trying to select Season 2, episodes 1 through 10. Thank you.

Thank you so much, Michelle, for the prompt action on this problem, I think it is the very first time I have had this type of credit declined outright rather than being asked for additional evidence. I wonder if you could give me a few pointers about the problem with the original credit so that I can avoid a similar situation arising in the future.

By the way, the amended credit has now been accepted and you might be interested to know that it is currently the earliest discovered credit for this actor. He has quite a long career from 1932-1961.

Thank you again.
