Does anyone know how festivals become "IMDb certified" ?

@Michelle​ thank you for this information.  I will try to post warnings up on social media, but IMDb should be aware that there are a large number of "festivals" out there using the IMDb brand, I guess falsely,  after reading what you've provided. In particular, I'm encountering it on Instagram.  It would be really a service to the community if IMDb would post information about this on its own Instagram accounts. The community that's being targeted could repost these and get the warning out. The con artists are collecting money under the guise of being "IMDB-certified."

@Michelle​ Sorry, but one last question: if we have won an award from a festival that is contained on the IMDb event list, what is the procedure for getting the award information put on to your IMDb page either for myself or for my podcast? Does the festival have to do it or can I somehow update my page  and my podcast's page with the information?

@GH33​ If your show won an award from an awards event on the list at https://www.imdb.com/event/all, you can submit the award yourself. You will need to go the event's page and click "Edit page", and then proceed through several editing screens. If you run into problems along the way, you can come back here and ask for help.
