doctor vs. Dr. in plot summary
I submitted #261002-170503-549000 for tt0951039 (Peyton Place season 1 episode 8) because I noticed the summary that was there twice referred to "doctor Rossi" and once to "doctor Robert Morton" and it seems to me that those names would more properly be listed as "Dr. Rossi" and "Dr. Robert Morton". I added an explanation to say precisely what I was doing, and begged for an explanation if this was considered against guidelines, since I had originally submitted the same edit as #260922-110412-491000 but with another change included and was told "Does not meet contribution guidelines." Not knowing which part of my edit was against guidelines, I decided to split them up.
As always, I am frustrated because no clear explanation was given for why my submission was declined, despite me specifically asking for that. Are the editors who approve and deny these explicitly prohibited from explaining themselves, or are they severely overworked and just don't have the time to explain even when asked?
I am suspicious that perhaps the submission was declined due to something whoever wrote the summary to start with said, but if so that seems like the wrong reason to deny it, as that means whatever issue there may be in the original one is still present on the site. I read the contribution guidelines for summaries, and the only thing I can possibly think is maybe this summary contains some tidbits that could be construed as spoilers. Is that it? If so, why wasn't it declined whenever the person originally submitted it? My simple edit of "doctor" -> "Dr." should not be declined unless we are not supposed to use "Dr." in plot summaries for some reason.
